Important Figures
Arturion: Eldest son of Pyrothos, and originally just the God of War, but has taken up his father's mantle as he lie dormant within the core. Due to his direct influence on the world, Arturion is depicted as a Humar in all cultures, even that of the Lykrans.
It is said that he still enters the battles of mortals from time to time, crashing down from the heavens, joining the side that Seethos has determined as the winner, and aiding them in their fight with his fiery sword, or, in rare cases, he simply just enters the fray, fighting all comers. The Empire blames his and Bariah's appearance for the immense death toll on both sides, and their defeat at the battle of Varik's Post.
Pyrathena: Goddess of Justice. Among the known children of the Sun King that have enough of his power to be immortal, she is the middle child. Older than Helgius, yet younger than Arturion, (the God of War that Uriel claims to be descended from.) She lives in Izalor, but comes out every once in a while just to mingle with the mortals. She has a short temper for fools, and her fiery-red hair seems to glow whenever she gets worked up. She wields a lance, along with a shield, and is oft riding on the back of one of her father's drakes. (How else would she get up and down the mountain?)
Bariah, the Hunter: God of Honor, and the Hunt. Child of Gizondrea and Rabartas, this Humar's existence is quite interesting, as he somehow turned out to be a demigod, despite the fact that his parents were both gods. Honestly, Bariah could care less, he loved his parents as they loved him, but he was sent to live with the Humar once he grew old enough. In the harsh north, he learned how to fight, eat, sleep, and survive in the cold. Equivalent to Thor of our world, there have been many stories recorded of his brave deeds during the war, demigod of the hunt, Bariah is always searching for a worthy opponent to tackle.
The only one that has ever bested him is Arturion, as a child of the gods, the god of war did not slay him. Bariah wishes for a rematch, but with this new treaty, it looks like he would have to summon him directly, instead of meeting him on the field. . Archdruid Alara Leafwind: Goddess of Nature. The one child of Restia and Nel'zan, she was the one that brought the Ein the Druidic arts, and remains in the world today, teaching any who aspire to become a druid the path of Nature. She fell into a deep depression when her mother left her behind, life wilted around her, and she couldn't seem to focus on her work. Until one day, her mother visited her. While it was only Seethos in disguise, he gifted the Ein Demigod with a fraction of her mother's untold power and more importantly, a new-found vigor on life. She is directly tied to Avendrassil, as she has been tasked with taking care of it.
Chancellor Archimedes Vare'thun: Eldest Velkoth in known existence, he is one if the few beings that was alive during the time of the dragons, that isn't related to one of them. Entrusted with Serameya's powers, he is the Chancellor of the Enclave, and the guardian of the World Fount. Most people, when first meeting him, are often taken by surprise by his powerful, stoic voice, expecting something a bit more... intellectual. Wiser than most, he is open to anyone at first, as long as they do not abuse magic, or threaten to disrupt the leylines.
A brilliant inventor, and all-around philanthropist, he is responsible for the spell used to animate the golems the Enclave uses for heavy jobs and general defense. His current project, is to discover a way to allow non-Velkothians to use more than one school of magic safely.
Grigori An ancient greater drake, and steward of Pyrothos. It was he who saw to the errands that the dragon god was too busy to do himself. This oft included caring for, and relaying messages to his spawn. With his master dormant, Grigori has shifted to aid the dragon's sole daughter. Preferring his dragon form, he is rarely seen in his humanoid one, which is that of a Velkoth with red scales and fiery head-feathers.
Archlord Helgius Ashmane of Arturia: Hero spoken of in legend, he was a Lykran paladin of considerable power and skill, and fabled to be the youngest son of Pyrothos. He united the races of Tellenia in order to put a stop to The Betrayer's plot to steal the source Nel'zan's power. He succeeded, even summoning the Lord of Death to assist in the battle. However, the Betrayer mortally wounded Helgius, resulting in the hero's death, but not before the necromancer was slain by Nel'zan, who used Helgius as a distraction to close in on the necromancer, so he could kill him, and drag his soul to the underworld. Despite all he had done for the Dragon-god, Nel'zan did not spare the paladin from death, he took him with them, but brought him to the Ethereal plane, the realm of the gods, instead.
He lives on as the deity of Holy magic, while his father sleeps, and in the Order of the Sun founded by his friends, the title of "Archlord of the Order" being reserved for him, and any other hero that rises to a similar level. It is said that if one with a truly righteous heart prays at the shrine in Helden, they will receive a vision of the hero, and be given guidance.
Since he died a mortal death, Helgius, like Seethos, has no corporeal form. However, the difference between the two is that Seethos traded his physical body to give his children power. Helgius merely lost his, does that mean it is possible for him to regain it? Popular myth says that the answer to this question, as well as many others, lies within Arturia, but the City has been lost for several centuries. Some even say Seethos removed it from the world.
Emperess Pyrastra Ashmane: Presumed Daughter of the legendary hero, Helgius of Arturia, and Empress of Lykia. Her age is currently unknown, but she has claimed to have been conceived shortly before Helgius died. This would place her as several centuries old if this were true, making her a Demigod.
A just, and kind, ruler, but not afraid to get her hands dirty, and make the difficult decisions from time to time. She was originally a priestess of the Order of the Sun, but challenged the previous emperor's throne, and ended up successful in claiming it for herself.
At current, she despises the Kingdom of Ostera, but, much to the behest of her consort, Taloth Sunwall, she respects their right to seek a better life for its citizens. With the current treaty, however, she can now resume focus on her true goal; finding the lost city of Arturia, the birthplace of her father.
Legatus Taloth Sunwall: Consort to the Empress, and Supreme Commander of her armies, Taloth is a Lykran that has done much to get where he is today, and has made many enemies, as well as received just as many scars. A brilliant tactician, his presence on the field severely boosts morale, if not ensures an Imperial victory.
Taloth is a shrewd, but efficient Lykran, who handles all the dirty work required to run an Empire, so that his beloved Empress doesn't have to. Due to a falling out with his friend, Uriel Ostera II, who was a prince around the time, he has a severe grudge against the kingdom, often meeting the man in battle, but sparing him for the due to their rivalry back when they were young initiates in the Order.
King Uriel Ostera II One of the first Humar Paladins, Uriel was at the top of his class in training, second only to his friend and rival; Taloth Sunwall. Saddened by Uriel's opposing of Empress Pyrastra's claim as ruler, Taloth grew upset with the Humar King, and the two had a falling out. Fair, just, and a brilliant tactical mind, Uriel is well respected by his people, and while Bariah claims a great hold on the hearts of men as a Humarian Hero, the bards have begun to spin tales of Uriel's heroic deeds during skirmishes with the empire, in honor of their king. Disguise/ True Self Little is known about this man, but there seems to be sightings of people dressed in similar robes wandering about right before terrible things happen. There seems to be something strange about him though, such a grievous wound where his eye should be surely would've meant a normal man's demise.
To the members of his necromantic circle, he is Kil'rassun, Arch-Lich, and claimant to The Betrayer's power. Once a powerful necromancer, he was discovered by paladins. When he tried to run, a woman atop a red drake swooped down, and impaled him with her lance. The holy weapon pierced his eye, leaving a brutal scar that could not be regenerated by any means. By his Master's name, he would see that drake skinned, and that girl's head on her own lance, piercing her eye, as she had done to him.
However, he must hide for now, not revealing his true self. As is it is not quite time to bring his plans into action.
Lorthuzal As far as Liches go, Lor'thuzal is a... strange one. Only recently having reached a level of power to make him a Major Lich, he left the scourge when Kil'rassun's power slipped when he went mad. Moving his undead spawn north into the frozen wastes of northeastern Windfrost, he settled there for a time, adding to his flock whenever he came across a foolish mortal that braved the wastes and was taken by the cold.
Peaceful, and generous, in his own words, Lor'thuzal "tried the evil necromancer thing, and didn't like it.". He does not mind the constant interference of the Order of the Sun, or the badgering of Kil'rassun's ilk, trying to get him to return to the fold. Honestly, Lor'thuzal doesn't mind anyone, but he will still try and scare those who don't know of him, just for laughs. All in all, the freed lich only wishes to have some semblance of a normal life
Oh... and he really likes cats... Seriously, he REALLY likes them, and you know what they say about a guy with at least two cats...
Jenoukilros: A demon, imprisoned inside a massive temple at the center of the demon realm, that the throne of the late Demon-King rests upon. Presumed to be as old as the Time-lost skull, evidence brought forth by those that have come in contact with the demon suggest that it was the brother of whatever demon the skull belonged to, but aided Megiodanius in slaying it. He was later betrayed by the late king, who was just powerful enough to imprison him.
Now, the demon craves naught but blood from any source, and has been known to summon wanting mortals to his location, and contract pacts with them. Offering the knowledge of Fel Magic in exchange for a monthly ritual in which he takes a small amount of blood from the mortal.
Time-lost Skull: A skull said to be imbued with the soul of the demon it belonged to. It is said to be the skull of the being Megiodanius overthrew countless eons before his own death. He sealed it away on the mortal realm to prevent any Demon from using it to usurp him.
It sat there for countless years, until was recovered by Nel'zan, in an effort to use it to boost his necromantic powers enough to raise an undying army strong enough to give him, and his brother a chance against the Demon King. As far as anyone knows, it is still within his possession.
