So I went to that party yesterday. I only knew the girl who was throwing it, and my boyfriend (whom I dragged along) of course, but it was actually still a lot of fun. I was able to fall back into my usual extrovert mod and just enjoy the conversation, food, and activities. Over all it was a great day smile And it helped me feel a bit better about the whole friend situation.
Right now I'm gonna go thank the hostess again for inviting me, and see if I can't keep developing our friendship. Who knows, maybe I could find my way into this other social group of hers, since the one she and I originally hung out in is pretty much dissolved now.
That's the problem with making friends at college, you all graduate and move away. And let's face it, it isn't very often that you manage to keep in touch with them after that happens. Still, it's better to have temporary friends then no friends at all I guess, and it isn't like the friends you make after college are necessarily going to be around forever either. So it's all just one big gamble.
In the end, I guess the only thing you can do is make the most of it.
