Another one of my poems. A reminder --to those who are reading any of my poetry for the first time-- that all of my poems come from the heart. Some poems express my thoughts and emotions all the way through, like this one. This entire poem expresses my feelings toward a close friend of mine and how I am beginning to like/love him. If you're interested, you can go check out my other poems by taking a look in my journal archive. Enjoy this following poem.
I wake up And I find footsteps Footsteps in my dreams Someone was walking in my dreams
I’m in class I hear a name, A familiar name among my thoughts Someone invaded my thoughts
In my mind I see memories Friends in my memories Only one stands taller than the rest
He came by himself Invaded my mind Now I see him In my dreams And in my thoughts
And for the longest time I’ve tried to force him out. He kept coming back. So I gave into it.
And let the thoughts come If I can’t beat him Then join him If only to fathom this
I hear his voice. I can’t help but smile.
I see him in pictures. It feels wrong to look.
I get close to him. My heart beats faster.
We’re close, but not close enough. I’m falling for him.
