Something else that I want to address is that over the past few days my friend Ana and I have been working to retrain our brains. Both of us suffer from severe depression and I also have problems with anxiety so we've been working to retrain the way our brain perceives the world around us. Exercise has been an important part of this but positive affirmations have also played their part. Due to the stress I've been dealing with for the past week and a bit my go to affirmation has been "I choose faith over fear" but I have others tacked to my bathroom mirror: "I deserve love, compassion, and empathy" and "I am enough." Finally, we decided that before the end of the day we each would have to find at least one happy thing that happened through the course of the day. I have no expectation that I'll see changes right away but I'm hopeful that within the next few weeks it'll start to get easier. Considering that most of this year I've been a shell of a human being I can't really get much worse.
