This is the song I can most relate to. I’ve always been alone. I’ve taught myself to rely on me and no one else. I love how Greenday says, “My shadow’s the only one that walks besides me” that is how I’ve felt all my life. No companions on my road, just me alone. And when they refer to the road not knowing, “where it goes” is another phrase I can relate to. The only road that you know, not knowing where it goes is so familiar yet strange. Eventually you give up trying to be surprised and just let things be and accept things as they are. It is hard for others to relate to you unless they know how it truly feels. But the people who know how it feels will make life long friends. ^^ I might write a song fic to this song. *smiles* Who knows…
