They walked into the Genivere mental health center dragging a poor man with them. He was kicking screaming bloody murder.
I followed them in silently not quite sure why. They went through the main hallway past the reception window in the wall. The architecture in that area seemed very old fashion. It reminded me of an old bank. Then it was replaced by a wall of glass like material with red supports framing it.
They opened the doors and hurried to get through before they closed. I watched them drag the man to room and bolt the door shut. They walked over to an armchair and talked to a man sitting there. I only saw the silhouette of his face.After the exchange they went back through the doors and left the building.
I was by myself and my distraction was gone. I started noticing the few people in the room. They all wore the same hospital gowns that looked to clean compared to there bodies. Their skin was an unhealthy gray and their hair hung stringy and unkempt down their face. None of them walked straight upright. They crouched on the floor like animals.
They all looked at me curiously. Some crawled closer for a better look, but most kept their distance. It surprised when one came right up to me. She looked at me with intent eyes then surprised me further.
"You must speak to him," she said in a raspy unused voice. She pointed to the armchair.
I nodded and walked towards it. The people watched me as I walked. I reach out and turn the chair to face me, but no one was in it. I heard a man's voice out of no where, but the words made no sense to me.
A projector flipped on and the shaft of light hit a canvas that hung on the wall. Drawings from the early 1900s whipped across the screen. They looked like advertisements for a circus. I watched with amazement then I saw nothing. Everything went black.
