i spend the WHOLE DAY practically at the zoo yesterday.. Santa Barbara Zoo baby! lol
its my fam's annual trip 2 the zoo on new years day, so i didnt get a chance to talk about a dream yesterday.
so.. here it is!
(i told my friend about this the other day)

so my dream started out as me and my cross country team running. it was a familiar street, but it looked a lot different in my dream than it rly does. i looked around and picked out a few familiar faces. i knew the whole team, but only a few people stood out in my mind. i noticed a senior named Natalie, a fellow sophomore named Amy, and a sophomore thats my friend, but not on the team named Marisa. we came across a park, and all the girls wanted to stop and play, which is completely unlike them, because when it comes to running, my team is all about business. so i resisted and complained, but stopped anyway. i crawled into a tube.. like, a tunnel at ground level thats kids crawl through. but i soon came upon water. i didnt want to get wet, so i turned around to find Natalie, with the rest of the team behind her, complaining that i was turning around. i squeezed past them, amazed that actually WANTED to get soaking wet while they were running. i walked through the sand back to the sidewalk and turned back towards the park. it had suddenly become filled with water. i realized that my teammate Amy and the non-teammate Marisa were by me, and i asked them if they wanted to go back. they agreed, and we started on our way back. some where along the road, Marisa fell behind, but me and Amy ran together. we came to the top antrance to our school, and i was horrified to see that a sand mountain had collapsed, and nearly buried the door to my coaches room. i freaked out, and ran to get a closer look. the sand hadnt reached the door, but there were tractors already there to remove the fallen dirt. i saw my coach and some teammates coming out of the door, completely unfazed by the dirt that nearly trapped them inside the building.
the dream changed them, and me and the varsity team were running through a trailer park at night. some of the girls had to pee, so we stopped at a ramdom trailer and asked if they could use their bathroom. i didnt have to go, so i stood inside and waited. i looked around and saw a girl that i had a fight with in 8th grade. we havent spoken since, but i see her often at school.
she came up to me, and told me that she wanted to show me something. we sat down on the floor, and i watched as my teammates filed out the door and continued running without me. i sat, waiting impatiently for the small contraption that the girl had set up to do watever it was made to do. it sat and whirred, not moving fast enough for me. i told the girl i had to go, and stepped out of the trailer alone.
it was very dark as i started running, and i felt like no matter how hard i pushed myself, i couldnt run fast enough. on top of that, i felt like someone was following me.. watching me. finally, i made it out of the trailer park, and caught up to my team, who was stopped at a cross walk, waiting to cross a street.
thats where the dream ended.. or, at least, thats as much as i can remember.

its not such a weird dream, so much as a dream that really said something to me. its complicated, but the basic idea that i got was that i wanted to move forward in my running training, but was feeling that a person that i recently got involved with was holding me back, and pulling me away from my dream. i felt that the team was moving forward without me, not caring that i was no longer with them.

its a sad dream really, but luckily, the situation that caused it is over, and i hav no worries about my training anymore.
