Elis finally came back to reality and muttered, "Daddy?"
Tonner looked at Elis really confused like and asked, "What? What's wrong?"
"Let go of me!" Elis said flipping Tonner onto his back and sprinting away as fast as possible.
"Elis!" Tonner moaned, "You don't understand! You must take me to your father immediatly!" Elis stopped and whirled around, her face turning white instantly like she had just seen a ghost.
"What did you just say?"
"I said that you need to take me to your father." Gasping as he slowly got up. She walked a bit towards the forest and turned her head towards him, all business-like now.
"Follow me." Elis jogged over to the horse stable and slowed down, trying not to scare the horses. She got a horse, but not just any horse... It was the horse she and her mother used to escape the arrows. The really odd one. Tonner stared and stared at it.
"You truely are the heir." He whispered.
"Just shut up and follow me." She said, rolling her eyes. "But, you must be cautious. The forest is filled with many dangers. And get your horse." Tonner ran over to his horse and mounted it. Elis mounted her horse and rode into the forest. Tonner followed after her, excited because he was going to finally see her father. They rode until a gray slab stuck in the ground. "Well," Elis said while pointing to the slab, "This is it."
"Where? I can't see him..." Tonner said totally oblivious to the fact that Elis was pointing down.
"Right there! On the ground!" Elis cried. Tonner looked down on the ground and his eyes widened with fear.
"No... No, this can't be." Said Tonner, looking at the writing on the slab. "Where is Mrs. Modai? Is she dead too?"
"Yes. She died over a year ago." Elis said and Tonner looked fretfully at her. "I'm kidding! Sheesh!"
Tonner straightened up, "This is no joking matter. I must see your mother at once!"
"That's what all the guys say to me..." she said, half-laughing.
"Excuse me? Why would they want to see your mother?" Tonner said, very curious now.
"Oh, nothing." Elis laughed and smiled. "Follow me." Elis road out of the forest as quickly as possible and into the village. She got off her horse, as did Tonner, and led her horse to the meadow. She whispered into its ear and the horse neighed as if it was laughing. Elis chuckled and kissed the horse's head. It ran off into the meadow and started chewing on some grass and jumping around. "Her name's Wonder." Elis said, putting Tonner's horse out too. "You won't need him for now."
