Volume 7 is the beginning of the 4-part "Mothers and Daughters" Saga, "Flight." Here we meet the main players of the epic fight between the Cirinist Feminists (lwho support motherhood and are lead by Cirin), the Kevelist Feminists (lead by Astoria, and who are ambitious Career Woman types who practice birthcontrol), and Maledom (represented almost solely by Cerebus and a few supporting characters). Volume 8, comtinues Cirin's struggle to "ascend," and the fight between Maledom and the Cirinists.
Volume 9, "Reads," is the most contraversial in that Sim decides to insert himself into his own universe, plus he makes several inflammatory remarks about how the Female Void has conquored the world. First he writes a physical biography of his efforts to publish Cerebus with DC (or Vertigo, I forget which), with intervening pages focusing on the showdown between Cirin, Astoria, and Cerebus. Then he writes several theories he has about marriage, women, men, and the effect Feminism has had on the world. One thing he states that keeps running through my head, is something Alan Moore (creator of V for Vendetta, League of Extrordinary Gentlemen, and Watchmen) told him during a conversation they had. Moore told Sim once that "all stories are true." Sim, years later, countered, "all stories are true, even the story that says 'all stories are lies.'" Sim's theme in issue 186 (the final pages of "Reads," and perhaps the most hated of Sim's writings) is the conflict between Emotion (the Female Void) and Reason (the Male Creative Light).
