Today, I learned the worst of things possible in the worst way.
Tennis is a VERY dangerous sport.
Now, you may be thinking "How so?"
Two words: The racket.
Did you hit yourself with it?
NO. I cut me.
The heck?
Yes. It freaking CUT my fingers up. It just so happens that with the racket I was using, there was a piece that was uncover. Thinking nothing of it, I played. That's when tragedy struck. Doing a forward swing, I swung and suddenly felt something digging into my right pointer finger.
I screamed and my teammates were asking what the heck I did. I showed them my bloodied finger and they were like "THE HELL!? It's plastic!"
But I kept playing anyway, even though it was burning like crazy. That's when I did a backswing. And tragedy struck again.
There was now a gash in my LEFT pointer finger, causing me to scream yet again and yell. When the teacher finally came over, he allowed me to go to the nurse. When she asked what happened, I explained her her that the racket cut me.
"You had blisters?"
"No. It cut me. The plastic part bit into my skin and CUT me."
Naturally she thought this was insane, but had no choice but to believe me. So I went the rest of the day (and still do) have band aides on.
I'll post pictures later to prove it, but one thing is for sure: Tennis is an unsafe sport.
Good news? Despite the injuries (and having run into a fence during this time period), I still passed with a perfect. HECK YEAH!
