((This started as writing practice, just to keep the gears turning in my mind. It turned into a mini-chapter about Louis, Solreyo, and Amaterasin after the events of Heart of the Ocean. I might turn it into a larger flashback chapter.))
_____Observing the thick mass of clouds above and the dark fingers stretching down on the horizon, Louis gave a serene smile. An icy breeze rushed past bringing with it the smell of dampened soil. He kept his eyes on the sky then closed them and felt a raindrop land on his nose. The dark hood fell from his silver hair where droplets began to gather. He breathed in the pure, fresh air and felt his new life beginning. His time on the island of Atlantiana was behind him and now he had his future to figure out. He took a moment just to feel the raindrops on his face before entering the house. _____He stepped into the entryway and placed a large cardboard box onto the worn floorboards. "So, this is the place? It's nice." Solreyo stepped past him to stack a box on top of the other. "My parents lived here for a while before they moved to Atlantiana, but they were too attached to this place to sell it." "Can't say I blame them. You get the quiet seclusion of the countryside, but also the convenience of being close to Nagasaki." Both of them turned to see Amaterasin pushing a wheeled office chair with a large, boxy TV on the seat. "Isn't it boring, though? There's nothing to do out here- no one to talk to!" She reached the front steps only to realize that she couldn't lift the TV, so she shrugged and walked off to get more things to bring into the house. Louis and Solreyo worked together to lift the TV and move it into the living room, which was much more of a strain on Louis than Solreyo. "And you're sure it's alright for us to stay here?" "No... problem..." Louis managed to say while trying to catch his breath. "Good, good! I'd be pretty peeved if we had to suddenly make other plans after a long trip like that." Ama had walked in carrying the rolling chair in one arm and a small box in the other. "Yeah, but it still feels weird, like we'll be overstaying our welcome." Solreyo replied and grabbed the chair from her, placing it at an old table that must've been left by tennants Louis' parents rented to. Ama placed the box on the table. "I think it's better if we all stay together now that we're all aware of our... um... situation?" Louis paused for a moment. "It would be strange living this life only surrounded by humans. It's better to have someone to relate to." Solreyo thought for a while. "You're right, you know... But it's also a big help since the incident at Oceanview Academy and all." "And going to the same school is kind of a bonus, too! It would kind of suck if we started school with nobody we knew." Ama added and hurried over to the entryway to bring the other boxes into the living room. _____Louis started to follow her, but Solreyo started speaking. "So... uh... no hard feelings? About the way I treated you in the past, I mean." Louis was about to reply to this statement, but then Solreyo continued talking. "You know, I always sort of respected you. After all the things you've been through, you always had confidence in your interests- enough to be honest about them to other people. I always prefered to keep my hobbies to myself. I didn't even want classmates to know I'm a history nerd. I'd decided not to answer questions in class, even if I knew the exact date and location a battle took place- Heh, that part of me actually makes a lot of sense now, doesn't it?" He laughed. "Hello?!" Amaterasin was standing in the entryway with her hands on her hips. "Shouldn't we be trying to bring in the furnature? It's out in the rain!" "Oh, Sorry!" Louis stepped down into the entryway and Solreyo followed. Amaterasin peeked into the kitchen. "Maybe I should get groceries so I can make us some food..." "No!" Both Louis and Solreyo spun around. "W-what I mean is, maybe we should go out to eat?" Solreyo stammered. "Right! B-besides, you might be too tired after you organize your things." Louis added. Ama glared at the boys for a few seconds. "...I get it. Neither of you trust me to prepare your food." She smiled and shrugged. "Oh well. Maybe one day you'll let your guard down." The three of them walked out to the moving van to bring the rest of the furniture and boxes into the house.
