You know, there are some things in this world more important then life, more important then power, and much more important then fame. We live lives surrounded and consumed by the material world, who buys what, who own this designers clothing or that designer's purse. We find ourselves constricted to a world with no escape, no means to make it our own. I know I personally use this site as a tool of release, a place to free my mind from the constraints of the real world, to embrace the warrior, the mage, and the fantastic person I shall never be that lies right inside my imagination.
We all do this, to a degree, and we find comfort in our lies. For that is all we are, just miserable liars. And as liars we connect and emphasize with one another, sharing our real world victories while feeling the bitter tastes of the sometimes too real defeats of the world we cannot log off of. Yet in each of us lies another person, our inner Gaian. This person is the truth that lives in our souls, the person we strive to be in the world of the living. Now do not be confused with my words, I am not referring to In Character (IC) here, but instead the voice of our Out Of Character (OOC). This person we are OOC is what we truly are.
You see, we humans are not famed for reaching our greatest potentials. From my life experiences one thing I have learned is that rare is the man who will ever find out how truly powerful he is, and those men tried (in vain, in my opinion) to spread their understanding to others. However on gaia we find ourselves in a bizarre predicament. In this OOC chat, while seemingly docile normal conversation we show the next step to becoming our truest selves. When we speak on gaia we let free our inhibitions, we do not stutter, make mistakes, or find ourselves silenced by fear or humility. In fact many of us wish that some of our less intelligent kin would understand their place and shut up, but they don't and in all truth, they shouldn't. However on gaia we are just as inhibited as we are free, if we continue to use Gaia as our only outlet of our true nature we will see that true life becomes less sweet, and we will watch as the boundaries of our real world close in on us until we find more reality in gaia then in the world of the living.
This is bad. Sadly I feel as if this is where I am heading. I find that gaia reaps no real rewards if one does not pour a small essence of themselves into it. However sometimes I realize that I love this site far too much for my own mental sanity, and so I suppose this is a warning.
This is not a warning to be on this site less, but a warning to look at your outlook on life both on and off of gaia. See the differences and see which is the more real you. When you find it make sure to be true to it and you'll find that gaia is not as consuming as it is to some of us.
