Master Du'ver has ordered that 02-88 be monitored at all times by means of tracing beacon implanted in the neck, but otherwise, the subject is free to come and leave the V.S.S. Capita at the subject's discretion
It is also important to note that 02-88 is one of very few serving Signet members who does not wear a standard ring. See below for further details. He does, however, have an attachment to his sword, which was constructed by R&D to compliment 02-88 in battle. It measures five feet in length and is usable by few other officers on the ship. It was also modified with a minor returning function which is keyed only to 02-88.
Description: 02-88 appears to be an average young adult male. Subject reports being twenty one years of age, and a battery of tests have confirmed that this is approximately correct.
02-88 was found [CLASSIFIED] by Research Team Bravo on [CLASSIFIED]. Subject's unique traits were quickly discovered by Bravo and the subject was placed in a Class C containment prison. Once brought aboard the V.S.S. Capita, the subject was interrogated and studied by Main Research Medical and the broad scale of its capabilities were discovered and documented.
02-88 has enhanced physical strength, with an average strength excess of 5T-HS [Five Times Human Scale]. This manifests in increased speed, reaction, and overall muscular strength. While the subject is observed to be fairly intelligent, further tests are necessary to determine how far, if at all, the subject's mental faculties are above HS. Nevertheless, these attributes alone constitute a C Threat Class, and initially, the subject was labeled as such.
However, tests 02-88-32 and 02-88-36 revealed additional properties, which concentrate mainly around energy manipulation and storage. 02-88 possesses a capacity to store energy that is recorded as five times larger than that of [CLASSIFIED]. Like all creatures, 02-88 has the ability to receive transferred energy from donating creatures. However 02-88 also possesses the capacity to absorb complex energy, that being energy which is transferred from the vague, formless state normally referred to as "energy" into what energy is usually converted into. In simple terms, 02-88 is able to absorb patterns of energy, and becomes able to reproduce those patterns with equal familiarity and ease as the creature who imparted them.
In light of these discoveries, 02-88 was raised to Threat Class B and Master Du'Ver quickly began procedure Failsafe 02-88, or F02-88. Due to the specific nature of F02-88, 02-88 is unable to access [CLASSIFIED] unless [CLASSIFIED]. Also, due to the nature of F02-88's contingency, subject 02-88 is relieved of the duty to bear a Signet Ring as it would only impede his duty in the even that [CLASSIFIED].
It is assumed that, were his contingency ever activated, 02-88's Threat Class would exceed A. It is impossible to gauge this however, and Master Du'Ver has strictly forbidden any further testing that might interfere with 02-88's current energy. Despite this, many researchers onboard have attempted to test the subject in other ways, and the leading hypothesis is that, so long as [CLASSIFIED] is active and his ability to recall energy patterns is suppressed, 02-88 is effectively a C Class Threat, possessing only his increased strength, speed and reflexes.
Test Report 02-88-32

[Test 32 was a standard energy infusion test, to gauge the subject's response to intense energy attacks. The procedure was eventually meant to subject 02-88 to a set of heavy non-elemental magical attacks and observe his reactions. Due to the anomalous reactions during the pre-procedure tests, those goals were halted in favor of exploring the subject's energy storage capacity.
As with all energy tests, the subject was first injected with a small amount of neutral energy, to ensure that the subject was not energy allergic. As is standard, the subject was asked to report on the sensation of the energy post insertion. Atypically, subject 02-88 reported that there was so little sensation that he wasn't sure if we'd actually done anything. The process was repeated five more times, and in each repetition, the subject reported the same lack of sensation.
It was our initial hypothesis that subject 02-88 had a low energy sensitivity, however after discussing opinions, the team concluded that the most effective method of verifying our hypothesis was to expose the subject to a steady stream of energy infusion. It is a common thing for a low sensitivity subjects to not feel the amount of energy infused and, when infused to full capacity, for them remain ignorant of it.
The infusion device was therefor set to continue infusion until the subject reached full levels of energy reserve and, assuming the subject would report that he felt unfilled, we could determine that he was indeed of low sensitivity. The length of the full infusion process for most creatures lasts from about ten minutes to three hours.
It was to our surprise, then, when 02-88's infusion took 48 hours. After performing multiple diagnostic checks and finding no error in the input commands or the mechanized execution, we concluded that the subject, who now reported feeling quite full of energy, had a capacity larger than any previously encountered by this institution.
Because of this, I am suggesting a team be assembled to further test 02-88's capabilities in energy storage.

Test Report 02-88-36

[Previous experiments on 02-88 have hinted heavily that the subject possesses a natural energy system of extreme complexity. Test 36 is focused on determining if the subject can, as I have theorized, copy complex energy patterns.
We will start by exposing the subject to potential energy created by human mages just before the execution of a magical attack to see if the absorbed energy can be expressed in a similar manner to the pattern it absorbed. If successful, it will mean that the subject's energy system catalogs absorbed energy's structure, as well as its power, and can reproduce it. This is the difference between absorbing a potential fireball and being able only to use the energy in ways the subject is accustomed to, to being able to absorb a potential fireball and reproduce an identical fireball without ever previously having the knowledge of how.
Test 1-
Subject M-1 summons and intends to use a magic missile spell, and just before release, transfers the energy directly into subject's chest.
Result: Subject reported feeling a small increase in his energy, and, when asked about the mechanizations of the spell, reported that he had gained no special knowledge about how the spell was cast.
However, when asked to try to release that energy in the same way he received it, subject was able to produce a magic missile that, according to subject M-1 was "comparable" to the missile M-1 had intended to use. Because M-1 had created a standard magic missile, it was impossible to tell whether or not the spell was perfectly copied, or just very will imitated. 02-88 was, even afterwards, unable to describe how he accomplished this other than by willpower.
Test 1 was repeated five times, each time with the same result.
Test 2-
Subject M-1 summons and intends to use a magic missile spell in the shape of a running horse as compared to the standard cylindrical shape. Subject 02-88 is not informed of this alteration in spell shape. Otherwise, the test is identical to Test 1.
Result: The subject's response was identical and, when asked to copy the spell, created a magic missile in the shape of a running horse. 02-88 expressed surprise at the shape, indicating that he has no forewarning of the effects of energy patterns he absorbs.
Test 2 was repeated five times, each time with a differently shaped missile, and each time with the same result.
Test 3-
The subject is set to an energy draining machine and drained completely of energy. Due to predictable fatigue, the subject is allowed to rest and restore his natural energy to a state of normalcy.
Once restored the subject is placed into a test area and asked to reproduce a magic missile spell.
Result: Success. The subject was able to create both the regular shaped magic missile, and the horse shaped missile with his own personal energy, revealing that the pattern of a spell is not tied to the energy used to produce it.
Test 3 was repeated five times, each time with the same result.
Before this report concludes, I would like to say suggest that this subject is a prime candidate for Master Du'Ver's Failsafe program. It is unlikely further experiments will provide the subject with detailed knowledge of his energy system's inner workings, and so his usefulness as a research accessory is limited. However he is a prime candidate for military usage.
His unique ability also allows for [CLASSIFIED] should the need ever arise. However extensive tests would have to be done before such an option could be explored.
