PS-M1.5 "Equalizer"
Preface: The PS (Power Suit) project was commissioned by Master Du'ver to function as a mass producable performance boosting apparatus for any and all combatant Signet Officers who fall beneath 3T-HS (Three Times Human Scale) in physical attributes. This project was brought to top priority after the flaws of the CPB (Chemical Performance Booster) project led to the CPB-M7.3 incident.
The PS project has, in comparison, gone acceptably smoothly, and Research and Development has concluded that this apparatus is ready for field application.
Each suit can only be used by a humanoid creature, and covers the wearer completely. The suits are operated by will, meaning that muscular motion in the user is unnecessary and dangerous. Signet officers are to be trained before using the suits in combat.
The suit is designed to move organically, and can do so in all movements that can be done in a regular bipedal body. Joint limiters are installed at all joints, but can be disabled by vocal command to accommodate wearers with extended capabilities. At this time, the model does not stretch beyond the dimensions of a normal human. Joins can be manipulated and such way, but oversized creatures cannot fit into the suits.
Adjustments: PS-M1.5 has significantly improved on the defects of the PS-M1.0 model, specifically in the areas of neural-motion command. This Development team has concluded that attempting to lower the weight of the suit to allow for muscle-motion of the suit is impractical with the suit, even after slimming, weighing over 1000lbs. Neural-motion interface has been remodeled, favoring an unobtrusive magical array positioned on interior of the suit's neck as compared to the previous model's wire injection into the spine, which had a mortality rate of 35% when applying the apparatus and an 85% mortality rate when the user was struck in the area by the Test Golem. PS-M1.5 has a .01% mortality rate in the neck area in tests, by comparison, and a 0% mortality rate upon application.
The suit's general defensive capabilities have largely remained the same. The Calibrite exterior armor continues to perform well at nearly negating all attacks with less than 2T-HS strength, and significantly reducing damage from attacks under 4T-HS. The undersuit, which covers the entire body beneath the armor itself, has been modified slightly, and now completely resists all mundane firearm attacks from under 20 feet away, with testers noting that impact feels "similar to being shot by a paintball gun". The most significant defensive improvement is a three second extension to the Plasma Shield's duration, which will be elaborated upon below.
Capabilities: As per Master Du'ver's orders, the PS-M1.5 boosts physical attributes such as Strength, Speed, Endurance and Reflexes up to 3T-HS. Strength and Speed are reliant on the suit's energy output, which can be adjusted by vocal command by the wearer. Average power level rests around 75% of the suit's capacity and allows for the wearer to lift a maximum of 1500lbs, run at a maximum of 50mph, and leap over 30ft. The user can over-ride the limit controls on a PS-M1.5, but the energy drain on increasing performance to 100% depletes the suit's energy in around thirty seconds. Afterwards the suit shuts down, taking approximately 1 minute to recharge the energy. Backup power will remain in this state to allow the suit to be removed. -Restart procedure will collect ambient energy from the surroundings to re-power the suit. Recharge takes approximately ten less second if surrounded by dense vegetative life, as the suit will drain energy from such life forms, usually killing them in the process. -The suit also features blades that can eject from the forearms of the suit by vocal command. These blades are of extremely high quality and sharpness, and are each a foot in length, and lock out at a 45 degree angle from the arm on the outside of the forearm. They cannot be removed from this position except by vocal command.
The defensive systems of the suit include, in addition to the capabilities listed above, temperature controls, which automatically protect the wearer from extreme variations, a plasma shield and a one-time use teleportation mechanism. Much in the same manner as a wizard scroll, a single use teleportation spell is planted on the suit and is expended after one use. This teleportation will transport the user no more or less than 100ft away from the position it was used. Each suit is to be checked for its teleportation magic upon re-entry to the Capita. -The plasma shield is an effective protection from most matter and energy attacks. When activated by voice command, the shield surrounds the suit in a small translucent red sphere that lasts for a total of 6 seconds. The wearer cannot move while the plasma is active or risk damaging the suit. The plasma shield takes 30 seconds to recharge once used. -Temperature controls can offset temperatures up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit to -500 degrees, keeping the interior temperature at whatever level the wearer commands.
The HUD of the suit has details on suit integrity, performance level, external temperature threat, as well as optional heat-vision and night vision. The HUD on a fully functional suit would appear as so:
