That's right gaia, Friday [November 20, 2009] I went to Chicago with my French class! Oh my Goodness it was a blast! Though, I had to wake up at 5 and be at the school at 6. We went all the way up to Crawfordsville by bus and than we waited on a train. (I'd never ridden a train before!) We only had to wait five or so minute and than there the train came [this was around 7:34-ish]. We all got boarded onto the train and my was it AMAZING! It kind of felt like a roller coaster you didn't have to buckle up on... Everytime I looked out I felt like I was going to fall out. XD It was real bumpy, but oh my goodness, a wonderful experience!
After awhile we got to take a tour of the train. We went up a short stairway and saw more seats that were boxed-in (hogwarts, anyone?). We saw the eating cart and the play area and where they serve food and even eat and shower. It was too cool! It felt a lot bigger than I thought it was. After we looked all around, we all went back to our seats to finish our 4 hour train ride.
Once in Chicago I went nutsss! There was a huge train station and when we got out of that... The buildings! Omg! The buildings were so tall and enormous.... I'd never been in a city and just walked around... Especially not one like Chicago. I took a bunch of pictures and everything... We slowly made our way to the Sears/Willis Tower. All the way to the tippy top we went, 103 stories. On the elevator all of our ears were popping. XD When we got to the top we walked around and watched out of all the windows. My mom gave me some money so I could look through one of those binocular things. Oo, and than we got onto the skydeck and the boxes and wow... I felt as if I'd hurl. XD My mom and I even got a "professional" picture taken in one of the boxes. [:
After we got out of there, we headed to Giordano's Italian Pizza! That's where we ate... A real Italian, Chicago, pizza place! The people were all 'foreign' and the pizza was amazing! We all got to meet Madame H's daughter, Virginia.
When we all got finished with our amazing pizza we took off for the art museum. We didn't do much but look at art here {obviously}, but the art was so breathtaking! I could hardly believe I was standing next to actual pieces of art that had been done 200+ years ago, especially the ancient stuff! Monet, Degas, Picasso, Van Gogh, Seurat... <3 We also went and looked at the miniatures. They were neat... Most of them looked just about the same, though. After we went there we went to the Ancient section - Roman, Greek, Chinese, and Egyptian.
Lots of amazing art and too little time to talk about it, really. After we got our fill we all met up and went to the gift shop. I bought a painting (fake), a shirt (too small), and that's pretty much it... After that we all went to Millennium Park. It was lots of modern art, there was also a skating rink that had just been opened that night. The Bean was wicked cool! I really miss that old thing. ;P
After that we were on our way home... Back to the train station {I kept seeing pigeons everywhere that would walk right up to you! Wow!}. When in the train station we got food and such and waited for a few [I bought nana's Christmas present! A book on Cesar Millan]. Our train was a bit late getting in. But once it was in, we got on and everything was good. The ride back was just as long as the ride there... I drifted in and out of sleep and so did my mom [while listening to my mp3 player]. [: Than we got on the bus and went straight back home and yea... That was my amazing Chicago trip! I couldn't even try to write as much about it as I want to!
Chicago is amazing. heart
{Than last night I watched Orphan. oh em gee. Get out there and watch that movie It's amazing and the girl deserves an oscar!}
