2.Grudges
Grudges are one of the worst things a human being can carry around. Truthfully, I've learned not to hold grudges through my dad. I've seen how he's held on to things people have done to him, and how it's torn him up. He just never lets go it seems, and it bothers him constantly. I've seen also how other people get so destroyed because of the hate they have against someone. So I've tried forgiveness. When I was younger, I would get mad, and stay mad for a long time. Now, I ALWAYS forgive, no matter what. That's what unconditional love is. It's loving someone no matter what, just like we would our own family. But there's a fine line. You can forgive someone, but you need to know the boundaries of how much you can trust them. Yes, it's good to give someone a second chance, but if they continue to hurt you, then you can still love them, just not trust them. for example, if someone kept telling people your secrets, simply don't tell them any of your secrets, but do ask them what's going on, and why, and that you don't understand. Now if someone tried to kill you, then you would still love them, you would just have to stay away from them.
My story: when that thing happened at that other barn, most people would've hated them, and wished harm on them. Me, I didn't cry because I was mad at them, I cried because I was worried about them. I did have mixed feelings, but even though they weren't the best people in the world, I still loved them, and I told God that the situation is in his hands, and he can do whatever. Well, I carried the weight around for a while. I hate it when people hate me, that's what does tear me up, no matter who it is, and I do everything in my power to fix it. Well, me and the sister of that older guy I was with, and also the barn owner stood and talked the whole thing out, explaining what happened, how we felt, and why we reacted the way we did. She apologized for her brother messing with me, and I apologized to her for some stupid things I did while I was down there. We even hugged and I told her I loved her, no matter what happens. But now we go our separate ways, but that tension is gone. It's like being set free. It feels amazing! Me personally, even if something' not my fault, I apologize, because I take the blame for the ones I love, even if it may not be my fault, and that takes guts, but really, it feels so good after you get the hang of it. I never hold grudges anymore. I see no reason to when you can put yourself in someone's shoes, and talk something out with them and solve the problem in a way that fits their personality. I've helped a lot of people on these matters, even adults! It's amazing to me to watch God work through me and change someone's way of thinking and dealing with things, and changing their lives.
