Wings
My trials have no affect,
As the ground between us cracks.
Limbs only stretch so far,
Muscles only hold so much power,
Bones can snap under pressure
To touch you, hold you again,
How far away that seems.
To feel sweet breath.
Smell it.... Taste it....
To feel surrounded,
Have every direction smothered,
Every inch feeling something....
Someone.
Feeling comfort.
Inches become feet.
Every moment the distance grows.
Each word spoken in attempt to fix,
Only breaks even more.
Warmth turns frigid.
The once sweet air turns into biterness.
Each beath is shallow.
Laboured.... Weighted....
Distance grows.
Threads stretch to their limit,
Snap and curl apart from one another
The frayed edges
Desperate to be mended.
Slowly but surely.
Drifting apart.
Feet become yards.
Even speaking anymore is a chore.
No longer is there
Meaningless chitchat
I laugh at that now....
How meaningless chitchat
Suddenly felt so important.
How meanigful it truly was.
Yards turn to miles.
Even in the silence,
Things don't get better....
Nothing is right,
Everything is wrong.....
After that I could no longer keep track.
With what ruler could I measure the distance of worlds?
Realitys?
Maybe with wings...
If only, if only....
the wings could grow from my back.
I could see you once again...
If only once.
Or even, not close enought to see...
Just to hear.
Close enough the you my hear my words.
That THESE words might reach you.
But even with wings,
could my will carry me that far?
Could I go that distance?
I don't have such conceited thoughts.
I don't have such belief.
So here I stand.
Hopeful that one day our paths cross again.
That in some stretch...
you read my plea.
You hear my words again.
You hear my voice.
And you know how much I think of you...
How much I miss you...
