Mood: neutral (whatever... kinda tired, bored, etc.)
So... it's been a long time since I've written in here! Allow me to re-introduce myself!
I'm Rosethourne, aka Rose, aka Bara-chan! And I've changed alot since, say, my first journal post. (or my last one... though I didn't talk about myself so much in that one... sweatdrop )
For example: I'm not a senior anymore. I am now a freshman in college, at UW Oshkosh! I've also decided on a major, for now at least (though I have yet to declare it...): Spanish, with a liberal arts emphasis. And, if I can get into the freaking class ( scream ), I want to minor in Japanese Language and Culture.
My family also has decidedly less pets than we used to. Remember those kittens we used to have? Well, we found a home for one of them, the only girl out of the bunch. Which means that the 'girl' kitten I had picked out as mine was actually a boy... thus, Bast became Sebastian. Anyway, that left Sebastian, Jack (my brother's cat), and another kitten I lovingly referred to as Kitsune, though of course, my brother absolutely refused to let it be named that. (he has a strange hate of most of the anime I like, and he gets annoyed whenever I start talking about almost anything that's Japanese in origin) Sadly, 'Kitsune' disappeared after a few months - we still aren't sure if he just wandered off into the countryside, was caught by some sort of predator (he was still pretty small at the time), or if he got squished on the highway that runs past our house. Poor little Jack Sparrow was the next to go, as several months later, my dad found him about half a mile up the road, hit by a car. We buried him alongside the grave of the last of our Great Danes. Last, but certainly not least, my little baby boy, Sebastian, was also hit by a car, just a couple weeks after my eighteenth birthday, and a few weeks before I left for college... He was buried with Jack, and my dad planted a couple of... trees? bushes? ...whatever, alongside the graves. The kittens' mother, (who was also claimed by my brother, and named Veran) also disappeared, a couple months after I left for college. That leaves just our first cat, Minerva (my idea, she was named after Minerva McGonagal in Harry Potter... but we usually call her Minnie... She's not so much mine as I am 'hers'... hahaha) The rest of our pets have stuck around, though, with the sole exception of our canary. As it turns out, he was sick when we adopted him, and he died quite a while ago. We now have another canary (not yellow, but a pretty kind of mottled white-grey-yellow). My parents have dubbed him Elwood, and he sings more than you'd believe! Only the parrots can beat him for pure noise level, and that's because of the size difference. We've still got Bub and Rocky, our parrots (Bub's the blue-headed pionus, Rocky's the african grey), our two lovebirds (who don't attract enough attention for me to remember their names... sweatdrop ), and our two attention-greedy dogs, Freya and Bebob (Freya is a mixed breed [part black lab, part golden retriever, part german shepherd, possibly part husky], and Bebop is a black miniature poodle).
...Wow, I spent a lot of time writing about our pets... xd soooo... Onto other subjects! I've gotten... well, less into drawing lately, and more into writing, especially fanfictions. I've actually got a couple on fanfiction.net, if anyone wants to check them out! The username's still rosethourne. (but then again, nobody probably reads my journal anyway, so whatever) I seem to be better at manipulating pre-made characters in a pre-set universe than anything else, though... most of the original stories I've started are pretty pitiful... stare BUT! At least I'm getting better at writing! And I have gotten better! (yay me! mrgreen )
My taste in music is also drastically different! (i blame my brother, lol. he introduced me to all my new favorites) I now LOVE Rise Against, as well as 30 Seconds to Mars, Breaking Benjamin, Avenged Sevenfold, Flyleaf... what am I doing? I already wrote about my favorite music in my 'About Me' on my profile! If you wanna know, go read it there!
Also tied in to music... I guess I just have to brag a bit. Not about me, of course, but about my brother. He's been playing guitar for about... a year and a half now? Maybe more, maybe less, I'm not sure, I can't quite remember. ANYWAY~ he is amazing! He and his friends are trying to get a band together... and they're only sophomores in high school! Of course... I think they're going to replace their singer, since his voice doesn't really fit the style of their music... but they're still doing pretty well, for their age. They've named themselves 'Caution: Wet Paint' (don't ask me why... they're all a bit on the crazy side), and they have a myspace page, too! You should totally check it out! Admittedly, they're still figuring things out, and it's hard for them to all get together for practice, but I heard a recording of them playing at a talent-show sort of thing at school, and they would have been amazing, if they had gotten the different parts set at the right volumes (the lead guitar was too loud, and covered up just about everything else). Anyway, I'm really proud of my brother, and I hope that he and Caution Wet Paint have an amazing time doing what they love! heart
Woooow, long journal entry! eek I'll probably write more later, but this seems like a good cut-off point! Sooooo... Sayonara! Hasta Luego! Bye!
