Chapter 8: Yuki's return
"So how does it look?" Yuki asked, twirling a little. He was wearing his usual school uniform, but he had bought a new jacket that was at least 10 sizes waaaay too big. He was going to go back to school the next day, but he wanted to try and hide his swollen pregnant stomach that had grown much more prominent in the last three months. "It looks wonderful, little brother!" Ayame smiled. "Well, how it looks actually doesn't matter." Yuki murmured, supporting his back with one hand and gently rubbing his stomach with the other. "How well is it hidden?" "Surprisingly, very well." Hatori nodded. Yuki's smile was almost bright enough to blind them.
"Are you sure you should go back when you're 9 months pregnant?" Shigure asked. With a confident wink, Yuki said, "I'm sure I can handle it." Shigure wondered something. "Say, Yuki?" he asked, "When's your due date?" Yuki glanced at himself in the mirror. "The 5th." Yuki answered. The Mabudachi trio's eyes widened. Yuki saw this in the mirror. "What's wrong?" he asked.
"That's a week from now." Hatori said. Yuki dwelled on this. He only had a week left until ultimate pain. He turned to them, an expression of sheer horror on his face. "aw..." Ayame sighed, standing up and hugging his younger brother, "It's ok, little brother." Yuki was an inch away from crying in fear when Shigure and Hatori helped Ayame calm him. "We promise that you'll be ok." Hatori encouraged him. "And just think," Shigure smiled. "In a week, you'll be a father." Yuki was encouraged by the Mabudachi's promises. "Thank you, guys." he whispered.

The class shuffled in, completely bored with school already. The teacher stood up and smiled at them all. "Well, today I'd like to say something." she said. "I'd like to welcome back our class president who's been gone for 8 months from some illness he won't tell us about, Yuki Sohma!" After her intro, Yuki walked in, nervously tugging on the hem of his oversized jacket.
"SOHMA-KUN!!!!" the fangirls squealed. Yuki waved to them, making his way over to his seat. He sat down, exhaling as quietly as he could. "It's nice to have you back, Sohma-kun." the teacher smiled at him. "It's nice to be back." Yuki smiled. As the teacher continued her lesson, Yuki inhaled sharply at a harsh kick. "You ok?" Kyo asked, tapping Yuki on the shoulder with his pencil. "Y-yeah." Yuki whispered, so no one could hear him and he wouldn't blow his secret. "The twins have been active since this morning though." Tohru turned and smiled at him. "It'll be ok, Yuki. Maybe they're just begging for attention."
The class went on as if Yuki wasn't pregnant at all, except Kyo, Tohru and occasionally Uo-chan and Hana-chan checked on him when he reacted to the harsh kick from his children. Eventually, a knock on the door paused the lesson. Machi, the school treasurer, stuck her head in and said, "Sohma-kun, the student council meeting's about to start." Yuki stood up and bowed to the rest of the class before leaving. As he followed Machi, the twins kicked even harder. He shrugged it off and followed Machi. Little did he know, the next few hours would change his life forever.
