Chapter 5: Naoko Hanajima
Naoko gazed out the window towards the sky. It's been months since she been in school and seen her friends. But she wouldn't let up on her idea that she saw Yuki transform into a rat. She heard the sound of a car pulling up in the parking lot and saw Tohru, Kyo, Uo-chan, Hana-chan and Yuki climb out of the car and walk in. "SOHMA-KUN!!!???" Naoko squealed. It's been too long. Suddenly, there was a harsh rapping noise on her cell door. The warden told her, "You've got a visitor, rat girl." Naoko sneered at him, but eased up when the quintet walked in. "Hi, Naoko." Hana-chan greeted her cousin. "Hi, Saki." Naoko smiled. "Hi, Arisa. Hi, Tohru." She didn't know Kyo so she passed over him completely, much to Kyo's dismay. But when she saw Yuki, she stopped completely.
"H-hi, Naoko." Yuki greeted her with a small wave. "Sohma-kun!" Naoko gasped. "It's really you!" Naoko pressed her face against the glass. "Why'd you come here?" she asked. "I-I wanted to tell you something..." Yuki glared at the warden. "In private." The warden nodded and left. Yuki pulled up a chair in front of the cell door. Naoko followed him and opened the little hatch in the door so she could see him.
"Um, Naoko," Yuki started. "Do you remember when we...you know?" "I do." Naoko nodded. "I remember I thought you turned into a rat." Uo-chan couldn't help but laugh, earning a whack in the arm from Hana-chan. "Well..." Yuki pulled his shirt up and asked, "Can you fit your hand through there?" Naoko squeezed her hand through the hatch. Yuki lead Naoko's hand over his stomach. "I'm with child." he told her. "WHAT!!!!????" Naoko screeched. "Your child." Yuki smiled. Naoko's jaw fell open.
"I pictured this differently." Kyo sighed. "M-m-m-my ch-ch-child!!!!???" Naoko stammered. Yuki nodded and let Naoko's hand travel across his stomach. The baby lightly kicked at Naoko's hand, triggering a breath of surprise from Naoko. "...my child...how did this happen?" Yuki shrugged. "It just did." "I guess I should've kept quiet and I'd be there to help you take care of the baby." Naoko admitted sadly.
"That's ok." Yuki smiled at her. "At least I didn't just leave you in the dark about this whole thing." Naoko nodded understandingly. "So...d-did you have your ultrasound yet?" Yuki shook his head. "Not yet. I'm gonna get it from my family doctor tomorow, though." "Are you gonna ask for the sex?" Naoko asked. "Um.....I was actually hoping that I could keep that a secret until I give birth." Yuki said. "Ok, but next time you see me, please tell me if we're having more than one or not." Naoko pleaded. Yuki smiled, "I will. I promise."
Yuki hurriedly pulled his shirt back down and Naoko pulled her hand back in and shut the hatch as the warden returned. "Time's up, guys." he said, pointing to the door. "Beat it." As the quintet filed out the door, Yuki blew a kiss to Naoko and mouthed, 'Goodbye' to her. Naoko mouthed 'Goodbye, sweetheart' to him in response.
As the car drove back to the Sohma house, Yuki thought about Naoko's reaction and dwelled on the thought that he was going to find about about his baby the next day. He smiled to himself, content with the fact that he was becoming much closer with the Sohmas, Akito and Naoko as well...all thanks to this unborn child.

Awwwwwww, how kawaii!!!! 4laugh I'd probably react the same way if a guy from a one night stand came to me and told me he....erm, had a bun in the oven. Can't wait for the next chapter where we get a look at what's goin' on in there. Enjoy!
