She was mad. Everyone in her town didn't like her habits, but that was tough. She was not going to wear drab clothing just because she stuck out. Many of the young men wanted her, but not to keep. It was just her way of showing who she was.
Evolet had been a loner when she showed up in the town and she still was, even after being adopted by the mayor for 7 years of her miserable life. She couldn't remember where she had come from, just that she didn't like to conform.
She stormed out of the house and took off running towards the looming forest at the far side of town. Not many ventured in unless they needed to hunt or herb supplies were running low. She went there to escape, and today she was. She didn't want to go back to the nagging 'mother' that told her what to do.
She sighed once she got beneath the arched bows of the trees, working her way deeper into the darker part of the forest where not many dared to go.
