Chapter 7- Unrequired Love

"So, we meet again" a male voice whispered into my ear, sending a shiver down my spine. I knew exactly who it was. It was Lin.

I jumped up in shock, and tripped on my own foot. Dammit, why was I so clumsy at the worst times? I stuck my hands out, and closed my eyes, waiting to hit the dirt filled ground. After a second or two, I opened my eyes, and I found myself above the ground, as if I was floating. I felt an arm under my stomach and turned my head to look at my right side, where the arm attached to. My face instantly went red. Lin stared at me in the eye, as I stared at him back, and it felt like hours had past, when he balanced me, taking a few steps back. I couldn't tell if his face was red as mine felt, or not.

"Eh.. Sorry for scaring you" he said, looking kind of awkward

"..No.. Its okay" I said back, and tried to smile. I couldn't tell if did smile or not.

There was a small pause. I then cleared my throat

"So.. Where are you from, exactly?" I asked him, and sat on a rock, that was a few feet away

"I'm from the mountains. How about you?" he asked curiously, as he took a few steps forward

"My.." I stopped, and thought about Maya. I didn't want him to know too much of my life.

"I don't remember where I was born, but I always went from village to village" I replied, trying to rip of a piece of string that my shirt had dangling. I would need a new shirt soon.

"Why did you move around so much? Were you alone?" He asked sitting on the ground.

I paused. He always had to ask personal questions, didn't he?

"I moved around a lot, since I was always made fun of by other kids, and I went around with my mom" I said curling my hair with my finger

"Why are you here, anyway?" I shot back at him, and looked at his eyes, that, to me, had no color. He looked away, as if he was ashamed of something.

"I was just taking a walk, and I saw you here" He grinned at me

Uh huh. Right. That was something that I couldn't bring myself to believe. It was extremely hard, just finding this area in the forest its self.

"It's not everyday that someone comes venturing into the forest here. Don't you know there's ghosts and what not?" I asked, trying to figure out why he was really here.

"By wild animals, do you mean yourself?" he laughed, and I glared at him, but he continued, "I wanted to know if there was really.... ghosts here, but then I ended up seeing you." he finished as I heavily sighed.

"So. What are you?" he asked me, and I frowned

"Uhh.. What do you mean?" Please don't be talking about my spells..

"I saw you as a butterfly the first time, then the second time I saw you as a wolf." He laughed at my frown. Dammit.

"Um.. I guess there's no point in lying, huh?" I wanted to slap myself.

"Nope." He still had that weird grin on his face

"I can shift into animals and butterflies." I was going to tell him about my telepathy, but I can only do it with my sister as of this stage of time, and he didn't need to know that I had a sister.

"Oh.." he mumbled. I guessed it made more sense to him now. I gave a small giggle.

Lin and I heard a rustling in a bush, and I heard a few men call out. My memory immediately went back to the day four years ago when the men came.

"Oh s**t.. I have to go" Lin said to me quietly.

He stopped in his steps and stared at me for a few seconds. He suddenly kissed me on the cheek, and started running.
I was in shock and turning as red as a beat, probably, but I snapped back to the present and noticed he was running in the way of where the noise came from. I had an instinct to follow him, and I acted on it. I shifted into a robin, and flew after him. As I flew, I could see him running in the distance, and I felt as if I was forgetting something. Something very important. I shrugged off the feeling, trying to concentrate on where Lin was headed. I could see him getting closer, but he did a sharp turn, and he was out of my sight in a flash. I paused, as it hit me what I forgot.
I was blind.

No, I'm not really blind, but, it was night time now, and since I'm color blind, well, I may as well have been closing my eyes. I felt the tears run down my face as I shifted back to my regular self, and I sat on the earthy floor, in a fetal position. I could feel it was going to rain soon. I was lost, I couldn't see an inch in front of me, it was going to rain and I was sitting in a very dark forest. Fantastic. Maya must be worried sick. I sniffled as my mind flashed to Maya's face. She would kill me tomorrow.

I sat there, until I felt a few rain drops land on my head. I turned into a small bunny, and I hoped around, until I found myself in some tree roots that were sticking up, protecting me from the rain. I curled myself up into a small ball closing my heavy eyelids.
