Chapter 3
Although these men no longer seemed angry, they did not move from your path. At last, the older of the two spoke up.
“You are to go to the room you awakened in. Do not wander from there. This is for your own good.” He finished darkly and turned, walking away. The younger of the two, who you now knew as Eric, shot a glare at the other’s back, and turned to face you again.
“Sorry about him… He may be my brother, but we’re nothing alike.” He said in a much friendlier manner than his brother. Now you had questions, though.
“Your brother? How can you be related? He looks nothing like you.” You said, your courage returning.
At this, he just smiled. Now you really noticed what he really looked like. He was rather tall and muscular, but not overly so. He had shaggy brown hair that went nearly to his shoulders, and golden eyes that seemed so deep that you could lose yourself in them and never get out. His body was a bit like his brother’s, though his brother was very slightly taller, and, of course, had silver hair. Both Eric and his brother were pale skinned, but their skin was perfect. Eric’s clothing seemed to be made for him and him alone.
Just your luck, Eric had caught you staring. You couldn’t help it, even though it was only for a second, how did he catch you?
He smirked, and again you thought you saw fangs, but he closed his mouth before you were sure. Now you were convinced that you were going crazy. He spoke again.
“Damien was right you know, you really should get back to your room. You’re not yet fully healed from your encounter.”
He motioned for you to return to your room, and this time you obeyed, not wanting to know what he might do to you if you refused, not to mention his brother who you assumed was Damien. After all, they did kidnap you, who knows what else they were capable of…
You ascended the long staircase, but you weren’t paying attention, and ended up slamming into solid. You thought it was a wall or a door, but as you looked up, you came face to face with an angry Damien, the older of the two brothers, glaring down at you.
“______, you were told to return to your room… Watch where you’re going from now on.” He said rather rudely. He said no more and stormed away. ‘How rude can you get?’ You think, but instead of obeying, you decided to explore, just because Damien told you not to.
Hall after hall you walked down. You passed more doors than you cared to count, and you were lost.
The halls seemed to be designed to confuse you. At last, you came to a door that did not seem much different than all the others, but there were strange sounds coming from inside.
Your curiosity got the better of you once again, and you reached for the doorknob. To your surprise, it was not locked. When you opened the door, a room filled with books, like a small library, met your eyes. The strange sounds continued, almost like and animal’s growl… You moved forward, into the room, and found a black leather chair, a book lying open beside it as though someone had been there not too long ago.
Still you moved on, following the faint, but strange noises.
Finally, from around a bookcase, your eyes met the heaving form of Damien. He seemed to be in pain, as he was braced against a wall, his forehead resting on it. But as you took another step closer, his head whipped around to face you.
His eyes seemed to glow red, and as he began to approach you, you could not turn and run. Your eyes were focused on him.
His mouth was open slightly, and protruding from his upper lip were a set of long, white fangs.
You couldn’t believe what you were seeing. He had fangs! Long ones! And he seemed to have a look of uncontrollable hunger in his eyes.
You wanted to run, run far away from this monster in hopes of saving your own life, but your legs refused to move.
Damien was now looming over you, smirking. “Now don’t you run away my sweet. Your blood will be wonderful, I’m sure.” And with that, he lurched forward and grabbed you. You tried to struggle, but he was inhumanly strong. His arms wrapped around you, and his fangs grazed your neck, searching for the best point of entry. You felt him pull his head back slightly, and pain surged through your system as his fangs plunged into your flesh, drawing your blood. The pain began to disappear, but your body could not hold on any longer.
You were sure this was the end, and the last thing you saw as Damien was ripped away from you by something or someone unknown…
Was his pair of ice blue eyes.
