Zetsu hurried to the Akatsuki lair after a solo mission. He was afraid that Kurai would do something drastic. Usually, nothing happend, but... this time was different.
--xXx--
Kurai was in a slumped heap on the floor of her room, tears falling down her sun-kissed cheeks, and blood staining her hospital dress. She had just gotten back from a terrible battle, and she had just been released from the hospital. Her room was in shreads; furniture brocken or up-turned, blood on the walls, and sheets torn to bits. She was the only one in the lair at the moment; everyone else was either on a mission or just out. She looked over to the bathroom, the only place she hadn't destroyed, and staggered in.
Where are they... she tought, her shaking hands opening the cubboard to find the anti-depressants. When she found them, she didn't take them with water. She took 5 pills... an overdosege. She stmbled into the main room. She had began seeing stars. She leaned agenst the wall, sliding into a sitting position.
A sob raked her body, sending her shaking even more. The pills began to settle in, but the overdosege made her helusinate. She began seeing monsters; the sheets and furniture all trying to reach her, she curled up into a ball and whimpered, tears falling more now. Finally, the darkness came to her, and she slipped away from the monsters.
--xXx--
When Zetsu walked into the lair, everything was quiet. Too quiet for Kurai to be OK. At least he would hear her playing an instument, or her brush agenst a canvas. Maybe she's asleep... no, Kurai doesn't sleep. iPod? Maybe, but then she'd be singing and dancing. He ran into her room, and opened the door. The first sight to greet him was the room in shatters, blood on the walls as well. The, he looked to the cause, a bloody, sobbing heap on the floor. He lifted her up, whispering to her that everything was going to be OK.
She whimpered his name, he being the only thing keeping her to reality; the one place she didn't want to be. He brought her to his room, holding on to his sobbing partner tightly. He kept crooning to her, begging her to stay in this reality, calming her down. He laid her down, and saw that she had been intoxicated by faulty drugs. He could smell it in her blood. Her stitches had reopened, thus the blood in the room and on her clothes. The stitches where on her exposed back, the white dress not closed there. He stitched her back up after her took the drug out of her system with a pollen from a plant in his room.
"Kurai...," He whispered in her ear, holding her close to him. "Ne, Kurai-chan...," She awoke to his calling, his deep voice ringing in her ears. A whimper of a sob escpaed her, and she held on to his neck, crying into his shoulder. "Bad pills?" He asked, wrapping his arms around her tighter. He felt her nod, along with more tears on his neck. He pulled the girl into his lap, her curling into his warmth and holding onto his shirt. Then he began rocking back and forth, gently whispering to her things that were to calm her.
After a while the girl fell asleep, tears no longer falling down her face. But, he needed to keep her in his lap, keep her where she was. He needed to know what happend, and make sure she didn't do it again. Bu, for the moment, she was safe, from herself and everything else thst could hurt her, and that's what he needed her to be.
