SECRETS CHAPTER 1 – A Nightmare Come True
Meier looked around the dimly lit hallway, Where am I? He wondered as he walked around. Every step he took sounded like he was treading through water, disgusting smelling water, looking down he saw that he was right. Or somewhat right, “Ugh!” Meier winced when just realizing that it wasn’t water he was walking through, it was blood. He continued down the hallway since there was no other way for him to go. He held his nose because of horrible blood stench. It was quite some time before he came to a steel door. It had some sort of writing engraved into it. Though it was barely eligible, Meier could just make out what it said. “Hell’s Gate, what does that mean?” Meier wondered aloud as he reached for the doorknob; it had a faded cross engraved onto itself. “Well there’s only one way to find out,” He said to himself as he took hold of the knob.
Suddenly it became scorching hot; making Meier jerked his hand away from it. Looking at the palm of his hand he saw that the cross-had somehow imprinted itself onto it. Ignoring the pain, Meier reached for the doorknob once again. Oddly it didn’t become hot like the last time. Turning it the door opened with no trouble at all. A blinding white light blasted out at him as it swung open. Too bright for Meier to keep his eyes opened he covered them with his arm. It was only a matter of seconds once the brightness seemed to have died down a bit; he slowly lowered his arm. The blood all over the hallway floor disappeared when the door was opened. Meier let out a sigh and walked room; it looked like it hadn’t been used for years. There was really nothing in the room but for, as he now noticed, an old looking mirror.
Meier, being his curious self, went over and stood in front of the object. Peering into it he only saw his reflection. “This place gives me the creeps,” He stated out loud. “But something I do not get is that this room feels oddly familiar…” The temperature seemed to suddenly drop, Meier started to shiver. Turning his attention away from mirror he glanced back towards the door. A man stood there, his blue eyes burned into Meier’s as he met the man’s gaze. He was tall, pale skinned, broad shoulders, and very muscular. His long silver hair was pulled back into a ponytail as his right hand held a wooden cane. He wore all black but for his cape that was tied around his neck: which had a sort of a grayish tint to it as he walked.
The man grinned, his black colored boots made soft thudding noises as he came towards Meier. He stopped just inches away from him, “It seems Stephen as raise you well.” The man said as he studied Meier from head to toe.
Wait if this isn’t my father, then who is this man? Meier thought wondering. “If you’re not my father then who are you?” He asked still meeting the man’s now studying gaze.
The man’s grinned darkened into a frown, “I am very disappointed that my son has not told you about his own father.”
“I don’t understand…” Meier said obviously stating. His gaze would not leave the man’s face: he looked too much like his father. He was so much similar that it really annoyed him.
The man chuckled, “you have the same blackness in your soul as your father does.” He tapped his cane against the ground twice, making a soft clicking noise. “No matter, you will find out soon enough.” Stepping to the side, grinning wickedly, he revealed a young, pale-skinned girl.
She wore a long elegant dress; her flaming red hair cascading behind her as she slowly stepped into the room. Her eyes mesmerized his like a bouquet of Gladiolas flowers on a wedding day. Stephen’s father spoke again as his daughter came to stand beside him. “Meier, it is time for you to come to know my daughter Ashuri.”
Meier could only gaze upon her because of how beautiful she looked. The man chuckled once again. “It seems you have already taken a liking to her…no matter.” Clasping his hands together he glanced towards Ashuri. “Would you please enlighten him on the matter of what I am talking about?” Nodding silently she advanced towards him; her eyes never once leaving the boy’s face.
Meier frowned, not wishing to find out what he was going to be enlightened about, and backed up against the wall. Ashuri’s stoic expression made it hard for him to be able find any hints of what was going to happen. Coming face-to-face with him a sly, fanged grin, broke through the expressionless façade she once possessed. The deep purple color of her eyes faded to be replaced with the color of blood.
Letting out a silent gasp in shock Meier lost all recognition of why she was so beautiful, “She’s a vampire!” He thought to himself in horror.
Ashuri then firmly pinned him against the wall so he could not escape from her. Then placing a hand against his chest she lifted his chin up so more of his neck could be seen. Her eyes seemly hypnotized him to making no attempt to fight back. He could do nothing as he watched her lean in closer to his neck.
Faintly looking past her he could see Stephen’s father grinning broadly as if he set this up perfectly. At the same time pain shot through his body as something like two sharp spears pierced through his skin.
