oh so shocking.!
so last night was the last day i had to work out my shakespear homework on "the merchant of Venice" good book that one. and for once i acutaly understood everything that was going on in the book O_O this was the first time that i wasnt horribly confused about. Its like the language just made sence. ive never been so clear on what was happening and even what was ment to happen. my god it was awsome. i guess my professor was right about it changeing ones life. you can learn so much from this stuff. The Merchant of Venice has so many true to life lessions that you can learn from it. like the sureest way to loose your love is to hold on to it. loveing only the look of things is a sure way to be played a fool. in the play Bassanio in an attempt to woo Portia has a puzzle of three caskets one of wich holds a pictutre of fare portia and her hand in marrage. they are gold silver and led. upon opening the led Bassanio gets a scroll with this on it : You that choose not by view, Chance as fair, and choose as true! Since thso fortune falls to you, Be content and seek no new If you be well pleased with this, And hold your fortune for your bliss, Turn you where your lady is, And claim her with a loving kiss.
Bassanio however doesnt kiss her he give her the choice again, wether or not she wants to marry him is hers to decide. the best vison of a kind man is shown in Bassanio... to bad men like that dont exist hu?
well ither way... the book is awsome and if you can fight the language i sugest reading it.
and as always ileave with a quote.
"well, while I live I'll fear no other thing so soar as keeping safe Nerissa's Ring" - Grantiano The merchant of Venice.
