My latest addiction: Cowboy Bebop. What I thought was going to be a rather boring, old school anime, turned out to be nothing short of fantastic.
The animation style is old school, but that's not hard to see. The value of this series lies in a story that reafirms belief in friendships and the ties that bind us to life. Complimented by a rare humor, this series is going to be one of my favorites for quite a while. The sound track gets a solid 90% from me as well. The coolest song has to be "Call me, Call me." But I'll be damned if I know who actually performs it.
The story is set in the distant future. After earth's moon explodes from a warp gate accident, mankind is forced to terraform and colonize other planets, including Mars, to escape the debris falling to the planet. Spike Spiegal (Former 'Red Dragon' Syndicate member) and his partner Jet (Former ISSP member) are intergalactic bounty hunters. Barely surviving due to a series of... unfortunate circumstances; the unusual duo roam the stars trying to forget their past; and picking up an unusual gathering of friends on the way.
All in all I give Cowboy Bebop a score of 9/10. A very solid anime indeed. Cautious anime viewers will want to be wary of the 2 or 3 bloody fight scenes, but aside from that, I highly recommend it.

This journal is a list of anime series I've seen, both good and bad. I'll include reviews, my personal scores, a (non-spoiler) plot preview, and if I feel like it, some screen shots. Feel free to comment.
