The faint pitter-patter of rain filled the air, dampening the spirits of everybody and everything that happened to get caught outside at the time. But none more so than a girl around the age of sixteen. Her black hair, soaking wet, hung down to her waist. Her purple tank top was slowly getting drenched, too. Along with her black pants, and bare feet. Around her, apartments were lined up on the worn streets, and windows were lit up, with families having fun, playing games, watching TV, and the occasional argument here or there. She wanted nothing to do with it. She hardly even knew what "it" was. On the contrary, it had lots of things in common with her past. Her entire self-being lied in the note that she held, clutched in her hands.

I'm sorry for all of this, young lady. But certain events have occurred, where you will, quite likely, will have lost your memory. I cannot reveal the full thing in absolute detail, but I can tell you a few things about yourself.

First and foremost, your name is Katrina. This might ring a bell, but probably not. You are being pursued, and must evade those who seem suspicious, and never alert the authorities, that's whose after you. You are wanted for a crime you did not commit, but were framed for. I will not lie to you, there is no place for you to go to for answers, always be wary and vigilant. Everybody knows your name.

I'm sorry, but I cannot tell you in full details, for this note might end up in the wrong hands. What I can tell you, is whatever happened to make your memory disappear, wasn't an accident.

Now, she didn't know what was happening. She didn't know her last name. But all this was a start, and she held this note, and cherished it. It was all she had to keep her going. Instinct told her to keep walking, and never trust even those near.

Sirens roared in the distance, and she turned her head to see if they were turning down her lane. It wasn't visible, but she had a dagger tied to her ankle, just in case. She had the feeling that she might need to use it. For what use, she didn't know.
