It seemed ages as The Old Man told about having to stay in vehicles sometimes when there was no houses or places to be safe during the night.... because at least he could lock the cars or trucks from the inside.

Luckily he did find one very large Tractor Trailer that was filled with stock for a grocery store and got so much food he was set for the journey easily to The Barren Rivers thought water was harder to find he even managed a few bottles of water and aught some rain water to while traveling as well.

By the time he made it to the lower lands before the river his feet where a mess as he had walked so much, he had blistered and cracked, so having no other choice but to stop being so close he found a small restaurant that looked as if it had also been a gas station and began to see if it was suitable for a nights stay.

Slowly moving to the open doors and peeking in...no lights of course, as electricity had been out since everything went to s**t.

Listening, he heard nothing no movements really. Just the wind outside on a small sign as it turned outside the gas station store front.

Moving inside, and still watching for danger The Old man said he saw no squatters or survivors so he made the place his home at least temporarily.
