there's no reason for me to put my stuff into my gaia journal anymore but I figured hey if I'm bringing back this old a** character in a merlin context then I might as well put her in here, too,
---
The first time Lily Terrae got a bloody nose it was to the sound of her little cousin bawling and pouring out apologies.
The second time was when she fell from a tree.
The third, fourth, fifth, sixth
She forgets all the times she was injured.
She forgets how the tune to her favorite songs go.
She closes her eyes and she lets the callouses on her skin grow thicker and she forgets, she forgets, she forgets everything and runs away from a world clawing itself apart.
Their introduction is sudden and abrupt.
The Rank #1 of Germany's SO branch is a stout dwarven woman with a friendly smile and a big curly beard. She motions to the delicate lithe thing behind her, a willowy beauty with stark green hair and red eyes that sparkle warmly when they fall on Lily. Lily feels a strike of aversion already. "You'll be watching over our guest twenty four seven for now," The dwarf woman, Dahlia, explains. "Her Human isn't very good, you see, and word has it that you're quite good at escort missions. I've already seen to it that your point quota is automatically filled for each of the six months you'll keep track of her--oh hello Moon!"
Lily's cat is too distracting for Dahlia to resist, mewing adorably while Lily stares flatly at the people who have burst into her office unannounced Dahlia cooes loudly at their cat and the stranger gives Lily that same strange smile, a patience too vast glittering in her eyes. Lily just barely resists the urge to twist her hearing aids all the way off, annoyed at the cacophony of sounds that stuff her senses silly while her boss continues cooing and her cat continues mewing.
"My name is Rose," The stranger enunciates in Elven so pretty and delicate it slips through all the sound unannounced and yet still comes off as something Lily could snap apart in one fist. She stares at Rose, who is pretty and dressed like a rich elven sweetheart. "I am deeply sorry to impose."
The worst part about it all is that it's clear to anyone with eyes that Rose really means that when she says it.
I didn't fake my own death for this, Lily thinks blearily as Dahlia hands her a thick manila folder before leaving as quickly as she came. Moon hops off of the dwarf's shoulders back onto Lily's desk while Rose drags in a cluster of suitcases and makes herself at home on a couch. "Do you have a last name?" Lily asks Rose, her dialect more blocky and rustic around the edges.
Rose smiles pleasantly. "It isn't of any concern. How about you, Miss Lily?"
Lily's shoulders twitch uncomfortably. "I'm not a--I'm a Mx., not a Miss. I'm not a girl, not all the way through. And I don't have a last name either."
Rose clasps her hands happily at this.
