... but I actually plan on keeping this journal O: I've always been rather bad at journaling frequently unless it's jotting down my ideas, but I'm gonna try it again this year.
So, I've recently been released from school for summer(according to my friends, it's been about 6 days). I'll be starting my time at a film camp at a college in town on the 16th. Until then, I'll be working on my summer art assignment, and working on another... personal project. More details on that to come when I get it finished.
For my summer assignment, since It's my senior year that I'm going into, this summer, we're to give ourselves a contract of sorts; it outlines what our Artist's Statement(the concept behind our work for the next year) is, and we're to give ourselves a certain number of pieces to get done before the new school year's in. Since I want to do animation, and am trying to work on more illustrative stuff, my list goes as follows:
-1 Animation/video(I plan on mixing elements of both into this piece)
-5 Paintings(Acrylic or oil or both)
-3 Large-scale watercolor pieces,
-1 Photo manipulation series
I know exactly what I'm doing for my photomanipulation, one of my large watercolors, and two or three acrylic and/or oil paintings, but I've yet to come up with ideas for the other ones...
Actually, after writing that last sentence, I just remembered an idea that popped into my head while I was making dinner last night. I think I'll be okay.
In addition to handling all my art stuff, I need write college essays, apply for my first-ever job, and work on my spanish... my final year is next year, and I'm super rusty since I took an advanced english class this year(college-level stuff O: )
I know I can do it all. I just need to make time. I've messed around these last six days, starting on a few things here and there, but not REALLY working. That changes today.
Love and literature,
Kayla.

An Artist's Progress
This is just a little journal I'll be keeping of how I do money-wise in the artsy part of Gaia, as well as my art jobs in the real world.
