Tis' the season for haunters to begin building Halloween props. I love Halloween and I do try and build minor things though I am not great at it. Yesterday I went through my supplies because I wanted to mache something; after not being able to find my mache things I remembered something. When my aunt moved in where I kept my Halloween props I destroyed most of them. I destroyed my grandfather clock, the fire place and mantel, and my cemetery sign; I was hurt and mourned at this memory. I also threw away my mache supplies. I did this for several reasons; I was tired of being mocked by my family at my attempts to make a haunted house, I was tired of hearing my religious grandmother preaching to me about how evil and wicked it was, and I was tired of having to beg someone to help me create or build my bigger props. Soo, I destroyed it all. Whenever I read Haunt blogs or forums it saddens me to see how some families have turned Halloween haunted houses into a family tradition; my family only mocks and ridicules. I still love Halloween with a passion and I'll tell you a secret, I have drawn new concept sketches for a grandfather clock and a fireplace and mantel as well of other new concepts. I went through this a few years ago and my love ended up persuading me to build once more. I'm unsure about this year, I may create me some new flesh eating plants, my old babies aren't looking to great. We'll see what happens ...
