A sharp cold queen, beautiful and deadly in her words. Serious without room for fooling around, a woman who cared more of work than anything else. An utterly unbearable b***h with an ego the size of a hot air balloon.
Her name was Sonny Anguis, and she was pretty sure everyone around her was clinically insane.
She worked in a place simple enough -- a business that was quickly making it's way to the top, something she was currently trying to do inside of it herself. It would have been easy enough if anyone in there had a shred of sanity.
"Nice day today, ain't it Miss Angwees?" Sonny's head swiveled at the sound of a thick southern accent, straightening up as she waited for her coffee. A huge teddy bear grinned at her perpetually, raising one hand to wave a paw.
"Anguis." Sonny corrected dryly, silently urging the machine to go faster. "It is currently the middle of the night as well, and we are also stuck here because of a dangerous storm."
The bear laughed, waving it's paw dismissively. "Apples and oranges! You should really lighten up, Miss Angwees."
Sonny forced a smile to twist onto her face, only managing a rather strained appearance. "If you say so, Mister Righthand." Thunder clapped outside, and the sound of rain slamming against the roof slowly elevated.
The bear giggled, placing a paw to it's face to make sure he wasn't blushing. "Aww shucks. Being the righthand of the boss ain't anythang great." He protested lightly, waiting patiently for his turn at the coffee machine.
Sonny forced out a laugh, thinking of their rather good looking boss. He was certainly an ideal pick for many of the ladies in the office, providing too much unnecessary competition for Sonny. Even she would admit he was handsome, but he was also perhaps the most insane man she had yet to meet.
"How modest of you." She remarked dryly, hand reaching out for her coffee in impatience. The bear gave a big laugh, leaning back a little. Sonny winced a little at the sound, grating her teeth. How annoyingly happy could one get?
Another clap of thunder filled the slight silence that followed, making the building shake. Sonny jerked her hand back in surprise at the sudden sound of buzzing, looking around herself in worry.
The lights suddenly disappeared, leaving the room in darkness. There were panicked shouts from outside, and the clattering of chairs being pulled back.
"....Well this is going to keep us in for a while." Righthand observed from somewhere next to Sonny. "Ain't it a good thing our coffee machine always has first priority, so it's connected to our back up generator!"
Sonny didn't reply, nails digging into her palms in frustration.
The coffee machine dinged.
