I'm really mad right now because earlier today I was taking some of my brothers clothes, his multitudes and multitudes of clothes (I swear, he has more clothes than a damn girl. He has more clothes than my mom and I put together!), out of my room and putting them in black trash bags and placing the bags at the top of the stairs. He currently lives downstairs, and all his s**t is strewn all over the room. He calls it organization, but who the hell thinks that having trash and clothes and stuff thrown haphazardly about a room organization!? Besides, the entire downstairs stinks.
He had been living in my room before he was deployed to Iraq, and so I wasn't giving him grief about the stuff in my room for a while after he came back, but after he got back my mom told him he would have to start cleaning his stuff out of my room. Months and months went by and not a single freaking piece of crap was removed from my bedroom. We kept reminding him too, it's not like he could've said he forgot. Hell, he probably could say he forgot. If you are telling him to do something it goes in one ear and out the other.
So back to the original statement; I was in my room putting his clothes in trash bags and placing them at the top of the stairs, at which point my mother told me to stop because he needed to clean his area downstairs before more of his stuff would be going down. I was seething. For months he didn't lift his finger, then all of a sudden he decided to move his lazy a**. Now I have to wait even longer because he can't keep his s**t together like a normal person. It's not like he's busy, he doesn't even have a job. The only time he leaves is to go to the local grocery store to get snacks and beer. He sits around playing his stupid video games all damn day! scream
And because my mother has an aversion to telling him what to do, nothing gets done. When I tell her to tell him to do something she says, "But Kaitlin, he's 25 years old, he's an adult, I can't make him do anything he doesn't want to."
Well to that I'd say, "Yes he is 25 years old, but guess what, he still lives under your roof. As long as a child lives under your roof, you have every right to tell and make them do whatever you see fit to tell/make them do. Plus, he isn't acting like a 25 year old, therefore you aren't obligated to treat him like a 25 year old."
