Taproot
I spilled my blood and drained my sweat
I rose above the memories I could never forget
Darkness grew close, my motives are hell sent
These corrosive drives dry the tears I wept
unrestrained by the solitary threat
Not incarcerated by the bars of resent
I Live for a day no one can understand
Portion a taste or begin to comprehend
burrow deep the taproot
revive the life as you drink the sap
Your body is a tree, now bare fruit
and let no one take a grab
Unhand and flee towards disaster
making a paradise with absence of laughter
dreaming a dream that dreams of a rapture
Of disappointment, fathoms, and this cancer
Begin to wash away such things as answers
Bring life anew and instill what you chase after
You live but once in this world split into
the choice to enjoy the journey is entirely up to you
burrow deep the taproot
revive the life as you drink the sap
Your body is a tree, now bare fruit
and let no one take a grab
I understand the reasons behind the plights I suffer
I wish I could turn away and just ignore her
But the calls of virtue never cease and I wonder
If me being the stable and strong shoulder
Will bring my demise quicker and closer
The tears I dry corrode and smolder
Till my will to sympathize can retain no longer
I absorb the pain of countless others
For its better it me than those I care for
burrow deep the taproot
revive the life as you drink the sap
Your body is a tree, now bare fruit
and let no one take a grab
