Just A Dream II
The moonlight flooded the light clouds, sending relaxing light to the Earth. The cool breeze shook the trees, causing shivers to run up her spine. A quiet song escaped her lips, without her thinking. Peacefully she sat on the cold pavement, singing to the moon. "Midnight, not a sound from the pavement," she sang, "Has the moon lost her memory? She is smiling alone. In the lamp light, the writhered leaves collect at my feet, and the wind begins to moan." She stopped abruptly, listening for anyone who may be near by. Hearing only the rustle of the leaves, she lifted herself up and continued to sing. "Memory, all alone in the moon light. I can smile at the old days, I was beautiful then. I remember a time I knew what happiness was. Let the memory live again. Every street lamp seems to beat a fatilistic warning. Someone mutters, and a street lamp sputters, and soon it will be morning." She stopped again, hearing clapping from the trees. "Who's t-there?" she asked fearfully, looking for the source. A figure appeared from the darkness, the moonlight sending shadows onto his face. She stepped back while looking onto his face. Fear hit her coldly in the pit of her stomach. The eyes! "Y-you," she began before she could think. The man came closer. A lump formed in her throat, preventing her from talking. Her entire body was paralyzed. "Shhh," the man said, "we've come to meet again. The song was beautiful. Sing more for me?" She could only look at him in terror.
"Coraline? Coraline!" someone called from the distance. She felt her body shake, slowly being pulled into consciousness. Her surroundings faded while bright light flooded the room, hurting her eyes. "Wha-" She looked around, squinting painfully. "Ugg," she moaned. "Just a dream.."
