twisted
Okay, I'm joking. I just wanted to type a bit about my two latest forays into quality entertainment-Mort and Avatar. Mort is by Terry Pratchett, whom I subworship (only Alphonse E. is better. If you know who I mean for either...hugs for you?(Jesus is neat too. Yay Jesus! ^_^)) while Avatar is so big right now that all I have to say is "the one with the blue people, not the kid with the funny arrow tattoos."
(If you've never read Terry's work, go out and get some right now. Got it? Read it. Done? Good for you. Hopefully you'll be able to follow this next bit.)
I cried during Mort. Three times, in fact. If you've read it...kittens. Not only did my eyes get cloudy, but it solidified Death as my favorite character. Weird? Maybe. I just felt so bad for Death..."he" must be so lonely... crying It's a true mark of an excellent author, being able to switch from humor and action to teariness in a heartbeat without losing a step. Then again, I worship basically any main character who loves cats, and I'm so darn squishy that saying "dead puppies" makes my face turn red...I can read human torture scenes without batting an eyelash, but the second someone starts with the cats...oh sweet baby Jesus, I'm actually getting teary-eyed. Right now. I can't believe it. cry This is pathetic...
Ah, yes, Avatar. People seem to be loving all over it lately. My opinion? Absolutely acid-trippy kickarse visuals. Light-up moss, floaty rock things, the whole shebang. It actually rivals a few fever dreams I've had, and my fever dreams are WEIRD. I just wish they'd brought in a better plot. Thanks to the Anti-Guide, I have completely lost my literary innocence. This is how the movie went as I watched it with one of my gal pals;
Me: "Hey, I bet next her dad dies. Next ten minutes. I bet you." Her: "SHUT UP!" Me: "Ah-HA! What did I say?" Her: "LET ME WATCH THE MOVIE!"
Never watch movies with me. I've actually made people spew soda during horror films by making stupid jokes. I'm not a good person...except towards kitties. Mew 3nodding
