I saw a fire in the forests. It was large and burning, so much more so than the flames in the fireplaces. I have been put to lessons, and the man said to keep my eyes on the book. Brother, I worry about you now. I have trouble thinking of your face. It takes an effort to recall it to memory. I have forgotten Mother, and Father almost entirely.
The rain is falling past the window. It is spattering on the stairs, and the lady next to me is grabbing my arm painfully because she thinks I will slip and fall. I know I will not. I do not believe that she thinks I will either. But the queen has said to keep me safe until my relatives come. She sounds doubtful that they will.
I have regained most of my old memories of life. Brother, I know that it must be sad there without anyone. I hope you are safe. Somehow, I think, you will find a way to send me another letter. And I will know that you and I are safe.
