Chapter 1: Prologue
The air was calm; the wind did not stir. Moonlight had shone its way through the thick, tough branches in the lonely forest. On the rugged forest floor lay a fairly young maiden with hair the color of the moon itself. Her breathing came in soft, shallow breaths. A fellow that looked like he was around her age approached her. He was obviously confused, as if this was the first time he had seen her. Only one red eye was shone through his smooth, silver hair. But his shock turned to relief when he realized the girl was breathing. The man picked her up delicately, careful not to wake her. With hast, the mysterious man traveled towards the less dense part of the forest, the way out. Suddenly, the light from the moon seemed to fade. Tonight was the night of the lunar eclipse. In an instant, the maiden awoke, coughing up blood. Alarmed, the person holding her broke into a run. After a few meters, a road appeared. He nodded, and set off down it. It had seemed like miles before he was too exhausted to go any further. Finally, the woman spoke. “Please, stop. The pain in my stomach is too much to bear,” and as he stopped, she let out what sounded like a wolf howl, mourning for the moon. Afterwards, her sight began to fade, then pure black surrounded her.

The girl was awakened by a calm, cheerful voice. “Are you up, Madame?” She smiled, then blushed when she realized the man from last night was expecting a reply. That person looked at her gray eyes she just opened. After about 15 seconds, the maiden replied, “Yes, sir. I am now.” “Good. Let me introduce myself. I am Xerxes Break of the Reinsworth House. It's truly a pleasure to see that you are doing well this morning.” “Oh, h-hello Xerxes Break, I am...........Lucifer. Just Lucifer. Did you take me all the way here on your own?” Lucifer replied a little hesitantly. “Indeed I did, Miss Lucifer. You very much worried me when you started coughing up blood the previous night.” Just before Lucifer could reply, the door in the corner swung open. “ Break, is our guest OK!??!!?” “ Yes yes, Milady. She has just awakened.” The lady, who looked around 20 years old, smiled a warm, delighted smile. “What might your name be, Miss?” Yet again, she replied, “Lucifer.......just Lucifer.” “What a unique name! Miss Lucifer, are you feeling any better than yesterday?” “Yes yes. I shall most likely be on my way in an hour.” “But you can't leave! You just got here! Besides, we still need to figure out why you got sick last night. By the way, I am Sharon Reinsworth.” “Fine. Then I shall stay, Ms. Reinsworth. I don't actually have to be anywhere.” Sharon let out a shrill cry of happiness, and quickly left the room. Break shrugged, making Lucifer giggle.
Chapter 2: Many Things to Do
After meeting Sharon and Break, Lucifer decided it was safe to stay here. If someone saved you, wouldn't you consider them safe? Break left the room to let Lucifer change into the comfortable clothes Sharon had let her borrow. The set of clothes included black and white arm warmers with a black and white corset and black skirt. It WAS fashionable, and not Sharon's taste. When Lucifer left the room, Break quickly ran up to her and asked, “Is it OK with you if you can come out to town with me?” “Of course!” she replied without hesitating one second. “You did save my life, right?” Both of them headed to the front lawn where the carriage was parked. As they both took a seat inside, it took off. For most of the time, Lucifer played with fingers and looked down. But then, after a few minutes, Break crept closer to Lucifer, making her blush. When he made eye contact with her, she had this look in her eyes that said, “I wish I could tell you I love you, but I'm not sure.” Silently, he crept his arm around her. Then, her body went completely stiff. Maybe she didn't mean, “Hold me.” The carriage stopped, and Break went back to his original position. “Oh Lucifer-chan looks like we're here!” They exited the carriage, and Break headed towards one store. " First stop- groceries." The store was filled with many shelves of food items, and Lucifer obediently followed Break like a dog. After they had gotten everything there, the couple went to a tailor, then bakery. It took just about all day, and when they got back to the Reinsworth mansion Sharon announced dinner would be soon.
Chapter 3: Possibly Making a Family
The dining table was gorgeous, even if it wasn't that big. From the kitchen there came a delicious smell. "MMMmm.....it smells wonderful." Lucifer stated. "That's good. So at least all that shopping will be worth it." Break replied in sarcastic tone, making her giggle. Later on, some maids came in to set down all the food. Sharon came in and sat down. "Miss Lucifer, do you know what today is?" ".......Not a clue. What is it?" "Today is Thanksgiving, the day we gives thanks for the things we have now," Sharon Reinsworth replied, "and to celebrate we say what we are thankful for." Just then, there was a knock at the door. A brunette haired girl, a blond boy, and a black haired man entered. "Oh Alice, Oz, and Gilbert! I am very glad you could all make it today!" Sharon exclaimed. "Hey, of course we could make it! We never do have plans, and just by mentioning meat--" the blond boy was interrupted by the girl, "OZ, DID YOU SAY MEAT?!?!?! CAUSE I SURE SMELL IT!!!!" "Alice, Alice, please settle down. I can smell it too." Sharon walked over towards Lucifer and said, " Tonight we'll be having a new guest. This is Miss Lucifer." Gil, Oz, and Alice all shook hands with her. Lucifer smiled warmly, seeing that these people were also no threat to her. Finally, once everyone settled down in seats, Sharon made an announcement. "Before anyone eats, I would like to know what you are thankful for. Oz, you can start. We'll go in a circle." He cleared his throat. " I am thankful for having such nice friends, and having them always be there for me." Alice was next. "I am thankful for the people who bring meat into this world!" Everyone chuckled. Gilbert, who was quiet the whole time, finally spoke. " I am glad that Master Oz is alive and out of the Abyss." Lucifer just nodded, though she had no clue what the Abyss was. Next was Break. This is sure to be interesting......... she thought. Wait.........am I starting to actually have a strong feeling for him? He interrupted her thoughts. " I gives thanks to the existence of the feeling of love and how it can effect others." Lucifer blushed immensely, and then spoke up when she realized it was her turn. "I am......I am thankful for being rescued and being treated so well by everyone. Thank you."
Lady Sharon got up and hugged her. "No, thank you. We haven't had much more company at this mansion for years. And just for that, I'm thankful. I hope you can stay longer." "Of course I can." Lucifer replied warmly. "Now everyone, I, Sharon Reinsworth, announce that you can eat!" Obviously, Alice took most of the meat. Everyone talked about how life was going and what their future plans were. After a few hours, the group finally finished, and Oz, Alice, and Gil left the mansion.
"Break, I am going to follow Oz and his friends to make sure they get home safely. Please take care of Miss Lucifer-sama," Ms. Reinsworth said. "Alright, Milady. But be sure not to be out too late." "I won't. Good-bye." And with that, she left and Break and Lucifer we all alone now.
Chapter 4: A Special Time of Secret Bonding
"So.......what should we do now?" Lucifer began. " Hhhmmmm.......well.......we don't know very much about you, so why don't you explain to me about your past?" They both sat next to each other on the couch. "Well, basically...I feel like I have amnesia. All I remember is that my first name is Lucifer, I have control over the moon, and...........and.........." Her heart started beating frantically. How could she tell him that?!? Did she even like him enough?!? ".......yes? What is it?" Break HAD to interrupt her thoughts. "Um......well........that's it." "No, I don't think it is." She suddenly became very alarmed. "What do you mean?" "Well, for one............on the night I rescued you you told me to stop and when I did......................you howled. Exactly like a......." "YES! I AM A WOLF!" Lucifer got up to leave, but Break grabbed her arm and pulled her back down. He then embraced her, leaving her shocked and bewildered. "Ssshhhh......it's okay. I'm not going to tell anyone, if that would make you more comfortable." Then, she broke into tears. "I-I don't know if I can trust you, but please...........please........." No longer could she speak. For a few minutes, they both sat there, Break holding her. Eventually, her breathing slowed down, and her body stopped shaking. He stroked her hair, and Lucifer put her head on his lap. "Even though I sometimes seem suspicious, you can always trust me," he stated, "I don't know what kind of girl you are, Lucifer. I need you to let me explore your world, your conscious. There is no way we can bond if you stay solitary." "I..........looo.......," As she was about to reply, she fell asleep. "Just sleep, Miss.........you have had a long day." With Lucifer on his lap, they both drifted into a long, deep sleep.........Unfortunately, that sleep wasn't long, actually. They were both quickly brought to reality by a high-pitched screech. " BREAK!!!!!!! WHAT IS THAT ON YOUR LAP!?!?!?" "Oh, this is just-" He almost jumped when he saw that instead of the sleeping Lucifer was a white, elegant wolf on his lap. It whimpered from all the noise, and Break soon remembered Lucifer's words, YES! I AM A WOLF! "Madame......this is quite hard to explain.........but this is Miss Lucifer." The wolf looked at Sharon, and ran out the door, tears streaking her face. This was now no place she belonged.
Chapter 5: A New Path Might Be Necessary
On and on she ran, until her paws began to bleed. She licked them clean with hast, and got up to run even farther. I'm sorry Break, I love you.......I truly do..........but your life probably has no room for a wolf. Abruptly, she halted and scented the air. There was another wolf nearby. It would probably be best to leave it alone.......but it was too late and Lucifer got crushed to the ground by another body. "GET OFF...........NOW!" she growled. "Hey hey.............I just wanted to play. No need to go aggressive." Quickly swiveling her head around, she saw the body was a brown wolf with a......bracelet around its ankle. Weird. "Oh, sorry. Well, tell me ahead of time! SO..........what's your name?" "Toboe. How about you?" "Well, I'm Lucifer." Toboe nodded. "Let me guess........looking for your lover? Or running away?" She looked at him, like he was some mutant. "How did you know!?!?" "Whenever a wolf runs like that, it's not just for fun. And I know you weren't being chased because I didn't smell anything. Also, I kinda followed you a long way back, and saw you were crying............." " I DON'T WANT TO BE REMINDED!!!" Lucifer stomped off in the other direction, back towards the mansion. "You should get some rest. For a wolf, you're tiring yourself out. Don't let stress take over." "Fine." "......do you mind if I call you "Lucy" for short?" "Fine." She laid down. Toboe joined her. "By the way I'm half human." That was to scare him. But in the end, she was the scared one. "So am I." he replied. Finally they both shut up and slept there like two wolves out in the wild should.

As Lucifer slept, she dreamt of her memories. Tonight, somehow, they were coming back to her. She was dancing next to a still pond, with the moon overhead shining as though it were as happy as her. Then a voice, "Lucifer.......come here.........." When her eyes finally saw who it was, she thought it was her mother. It was...........the woman looked exactly like her, hair and all. Then next to her was........someone was prodding her in the side. "Toboe......stop it, I'm awake." That seemed to perk him up. Lucifer began mumbling to herself, "Gotta go back to Break.........who was that...............I don't know........" "Who's Break?" "NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!" Man, was she crabby today. For some odd reason Toboe did not know, Lucifer was heading back to the mansion. He just followed her, not commenting on her sense of direction. Most of the day was spent traveling.The wolves reached a house at sunset. Hhhhmmmm....... I remember passing by here. she thought. Her stomach growled. "Well, let's see who lives here and rob them of all their food," she said sarcastically, even though she knocked on the door. A man with long blond hair and a weird hat thing with what looked like wings on it opened the door almost immediately. Something was strange about this man; he smelled almost exactly like her. "Ma cherie........you have come home at last." This person looked exactly the man standing next to her mom in her dream.
Chapter 6: Suspicious One
Lucifer immediately went into aggressive mode. She bared her fangs and growled, questioned by how familiar this figure was. Toboe stepped in front of her. "Lucy, stop. We don't even know who this man is yet. He might be no threat." Lucifer shut her mouth. "Do you not remember who I am? Lucifer, I have lived with you for most of your life." Was this really who she thought it was? "F-father........?" "Yes. I am glad you have some recollection of me." Lucifer's body changed back into a human, along with Toboe after her. Seeing Toboe human for the first time, she cocked her head to the side. He had long brunette bangs framing his face. "Please come in. I can see you two are quite hungry. That was true. Toboe spoke to the man. "How did you know we would come here?" "I am a prophet. I can see the future occasionally and what will happen. Here, have something to eat," He set down a plate with some bread rolls on it. Quickly Toboe and Lucifer gobbled them up. When Lucifer looked around the room, she almost froze from shock. There were pictures of her and her mother everywhere. This was definitely her father. She looked outside, and saw that it was pitch black out. Daring to talk to her father, she asked, "May we stay here for the night?" "Of course, ma cherie! How could I turn down my child's request?" That made her giggle. After about 2 hours of talking about numerous things and Lucifer's past, Toboe fell asleep on the floor. From habit, Lucifer laid down next to him. "Good night, Lucifer." Her father shut off the light.
The next morning Lucifer prodded Toboe this time. "Let's go. I'm having this strong urge...............to go back. I believe Break still wishes to see me." He nodded, and they both quietly crept out the door as wolves. Strangely, Toboe didn't talk much. Suddenly, as they both settled down to rest, a girl came up to them. She had short gray hair with her bangs to her shoulders. "Vincent-sama wishes to see you, Miss Lucifer. He says he knows Break." Lucifer's pupils turned to slits. "Vincent who?" "Vincent Nightray." Nightray, Nightray.....why was that familiar? That's right! Gilbert Nightray! She turned her head to Toboe. " I think she's safe. I recognize Vincent's last name. Let's go." This girl was quick, and could suspiciously catch up with the friends. The path seemed to go away from the Reinsworth mansion, but they followed this person without a word. As the group approached another mansion, Lucifer and Toboe turned back into humans. They slowly entered the building, and a strange man greeted them.
Chapter 7: Nightray Mansion
"Why, hello, Lucifer! It is a pleasure to meet you. I am sure you know my brother, Gilbert. Do you not?" Hesitantly, she replied, "Yes, I met him for Thanksgiving." This man she was confronting had blond hair going down to his shoulders and one red eye and one yellow eye. "If you did not figure out already, I am Vincent Nightray." He motioned a hand towards the girl who escorted them here. "Echo, go get our guests some tea." "Yes, Vincent-sama." The way the girl, Echo, talked was almost like she was in another world. Vincent motioned towards a table. "Both of you, have a seat." Both sat down. Just as Lucifer was about to speak, Vincent mentioned, "Do not worry about Break. I called him before you came. He will be here in a matter of minutes. Lucifer's eyes widened. When was the last time she saw him? Three nights ago? Echo arrived with the tea. "No thank you," Toboe said calmly. To not be rude, Lucifer accepted a cup. It tasted..........like tea. But there was something particular about this cup that Lucifer couldn't identify. She continued to drink it. After she finished, Vincent asked her many questions, most of which were about her. Being the cunning person she was, Lucifer did not give away much information. Vincent didn't seem as warm as other people usually are. When Vincent finally stopped, he got up and begged, "Come this way, Mame. I have something to show you. Lucifer looked at Toboe. He was staring at her like something was wrong with her. "What?" she whispered to him. "You look a little sick, are you feeling alright?" he replied, alarmed. "Well......I am feeling a little dizzy......what about you?" "Fine. Maybe you just need rest......" "Yeah, I bet I do." They reached a room. Vincent opened it, and inside was only a picture. It had Lucifer, her father, and her mother. She ran up to it, with Toboe at her side. There was a ding-dong at the front door, and the door quickly shut. "Oh no, Lucy...........it was a trick! We're stuck! ............Lucy?" Lucifer was now a wolf, and was breathing very fast. "Lucy! What's wrong?" "The tea...................I think........" "Lucifer, it was poison! Oh my..........what do we do?" Before she could reply, she wretched all over the floor. "Lucifer!" Toboe was nudging her, as a wolf. Outside, there was a voice, "Lucifer is right this way." With much effort, she looked up at Toboe. "It looks like Break is here. But I don't want him to see me like this............." The door swung open. Standing in the doorway was the person Lucifer longed to see for what seemed like forever. "Lucifer! I can't believe it! It's you............................wait, what's wrong? LUCIFER!" Break ran up to her, and picked her up in his arms. "VINCENT!!!!!! WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!?!!?" "Break, Break, I picked up the one you envy and cherish most, can't you show a little bit of gratitude?" But before anyone could reply, Toboe leapt and as he was about to bite Vincent, Echo stepped in front of him and stabbed his chest with a knife. He whimpered in pain, and ran over to Break and Lucifer and collapsed. Lucifer stared at him, and started foaming at the mouth. " YOU......WILL........" "Please Miss Lucifer, Echo did not mean to do that. Echo only wanted to protect Vincent-sama." she said. Vincent pulled Echo out into the hallway and shut the door, locking it this time. Break looked at Toboe, then at the wolf he was holding. "Is it really you...........Lucifer?"
Chapter 8: Emergency
Just then, the roof crumpled away and Lucifer's father jumped down. "Ma cherie! What has happened? I just got a prophecy.....that you are in terrible danger. But I did not see the reunion. I hope you are not close to death just yet." The floor shook, and it began to fall away. The weird thing about Lucifer's dad was that...........he was levitating in midair. He swooped down and caught Toboe. Just a few meters below, spikes were flying towards them. "Lucifer! Spread your moonlit wings and fly! The moon will give you the strength you need!" he said. She did as he directed, and beautiful white, shining wings appeared from her back. Holding Break in her arms, she flew skywards and caught up with her father. They exited through the open roof, and flew as fast as they could towards Lucifer's dad's home. Then, Lucifer began to lose altitude fast. Fortunately, her father was faster, and he set down Toboe and caught her. She was set down on the ground, and Break realized she wasn't breathing. He very quickly began shoving her chest repeatedly, performing CPR. After a minute, her eyes flew open and she got up and started coughing up blood. "That's.............that's much better. Thank you, Break." Rain started to pour. Lucifer was too weak to fly, but went up to Toboe, turned into a wolf again, and started licking his wound clean. It had to be cleaned up quick, or it would get infected. He whimpered again, and Lucifer now clarified to herself that he was alive. "Lucy..........that hurts." "Now, now. I have to get it cleaned somehow, right?" Break and her father laughed. At least everyone was starting to relax now. Finally, he got up. "Lucy, I don't know how to repay you. But for now, let's get some shelter from this downpour. Lucifer sighed with relief when she saw her dad's house a few meters ahead. She almost jumped when she felt Break pick her up with ease. Her dad did the same with Toboe. Everyone got inside the house, and just stood there, glad to finally be safe. Lucifer picked up Wolf Toboe and took him to the bathroom. She set him down inside the bath tub and turned on the water to warm. Frantically she washed his fur. Break came in and did the same. In a matter of minutes, Toboe was shining clean. All the while during the bath, he was groaning and complaining that he could take care of himself. After that, Lucifer's father came in. "Lucifer...........I should tell you now...........my name is Waka." "It is............wow. Cool. Waka.........is my mother still alive? And what is her name?" she replied back. "Yes. Your mother is still alive. But she can only come down to Earth when there is a solar eclipse because she resides on the sun. Her name was Amaterasu." Amaterasu!??! The great god of the Sun?!?! "SHE WAS MY MOTHER!??!" "Yes, ma cherie. You should be proud." "I-I am. Very." "Why don't you and your friends sleep in the guest room? There is plenty of room there. But there are only two beds...." Lucifer nodded, and Toboe and Break followed her into the guest room. Waka went to his own bed, and Toboe got one of the beds all to himself. Yes, Break shared a bed with Lucifer. He turned off the light and laid down next to her. He stroked her hair like he did the night she left. She was positive, this feeling she had for him.............it was pure love. Now she began to realize Break loved her back the same.
Chapter 9: A Fresh Path
Morning came by quick, and everyone gathered at the dinning table. Toboe made an announcement. "Lucifer and Break..........you have both treated me so well, and I truly do not know how to repay you. I talked with Waka before you both woke up............and he has allowed me to stay here for as long as I wish. I cannot go with you two any longer because I know there is a special bond that needs to strengthen between you both. However, I shall always stay here and if you ever feel the need to visit Waka or I, come on down! We would most likely be happy to see you." Waka nodded when Toboe finished, and Lucifer walked up to him and hugged him. "Oh, Toboe.....I am so glad you understand my feelings, and I shall visit you frequently. You have been one of my first friends. As a matter of fact, you are the first wolf that I have met. Don't forget; wolves sometimes have a different kind of bond then humans. Good bye," with that, her and Break walked out the door. Hand-in-hand, they walked in silence. As they arrived at the Reinsworth mansion, Sharon burst out the door. "Lucifer!!!! You're alive! I thought Vincent killed you! Also, I'm so sorry.............about freaking out over the whole wolf ordeal. I was just a little surprised. Too much, apparently. Please forgive me," "It's okay, Ms. Reinsworth. I have long forgiven you. Now, let's go inside." For the rest of the day, Break and Lucifer told of their journey, and how it affected them. Finally, it was time for bed. Break took Lucifer into his room. "Are you comfortable with sleeping with me?" "Of course, Break. I love you so much it's up to an unbearable point." "The scenario is the same with me." He turned off the lights, and for a while they both just laid on his bed. After a few minutes, Break slowly brought Lucifer closer to him. Then, the gap between their lips closed. The kiss was long and very passionate. Break began kissing her neck and eventually nibbling it. Lucifer enjoyed every minute of it. He went back to her lips, and continued kissing from there.

Because of the lack of sleep they got, Break and Lucifer slept through the entire next day. Sharon got a little worried, and opened the door just a crack to check on them. She almost slammed the door shut. Ok.......they were to be left alone till they woke up, that was for sure. At suppertime, Break and Lucifer came to the dinning room. "Oh I'm glad to see that you are both awake! I began to get a little worried............" Sharon told them. "Of course we were just talking with each other all night and didn't realize the time. We did go to sleep, but didn't know we overslept." Break said quickly. It was obvious that he was lying, but Sharon stayed quiet.
Chapter 10: The Sad Truth
" Lucifer, I would like to know...............have you recovered any of your memories lately?" For a moment Lucifer just starred. "N-no, not at all. But I don't think I need to know about them. I already know who my mother and father are." "Miss Lucifer, there are things that are more important than that." Sharon commented quickly. Break and her exchanged a glance, and Lucifer became confused. "Like........? Are you guys hiding something from me?" Break put a hand on her shoulder, confusing her even more. "Yes, but I believe the time to tell you is now. The reason why you can't remember anything else is because we took your memories away from you." Lucifer gasped, and stared at the people who respected and loved her. "W-why............what did I do-" "It is not what you did, but what you wished." "Break, what are you talking about?!" "To tell you this is painful, trust me, but your father Waka lied. Your mother does not reside on the sun; she died a while ago. Amaterasu was murdered protecting you. One day, her shadow disappeared. She knew that she wouldn't just find it; she had to stop it. When she had her guard down, it snuck up on you and injured you horribly. But you lived through, just enough for your mother to realize what was happening. Since it was her shadow it had all the same abilities as her, and knew her every move. The only choice left.....was to go suicidal. That would definitely destroy it. Before she went suicidal, Amaterasu told Waka to take care of you. But you went berserk and ran away. Lady Sharon and I approached you one day, and you thought we were angels. You asked us to help you forget your painful memories, forever and ever. The only way was to use the power of our Chains to brainwash you. In case things got too dangerous, I took Lady Sharon home. We both agreed the only way to help you was to act like we didn't know you. Now, I have done a terrible thing and destroyed your wish. I have told you all you didn't want to know." By now, Lucifer started to tear up. "N-no, you.............why........did I.............why did I make such a mess? WHY DID I NOT FIGHT BACK?!?!?" She was digging her fingernails into her hand, making a bloody mess. "Lucifer! Calm yourself! Self-harm never did anyone any good!" Break became furious. She didn't stop. "I should die...........I'm just too weak to do any good................" "NO!! LUCIFER, DON'T! THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT YOU!!! DON'T MAKE THEM SUFFER!!!" That was the first time Break yelled at Lucifer; actually, that was about the first time he yelled at all. Just starring, she stopped moving. He still loved her; they both knew that, but it felt like she was grounded very harshly. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry-" Sharon went over to her and hugged her. "You did nothing wrong; there is no way you could have defeated or held back her shadow. You weren't as strong as her. Do not blame anyone, including yourself, for that. Fate made it so such a tragedy would happen." It seemed as though Lucifer wasn't listening. "Oh my, she has gone into shock! Break, we need an emergency unit-now!!!" He dashed off, and 5 minutes later an emergency unit took her away.
Chapter 11: Calming Down
They worked on reviving her for an hour. Then, a strange figure appeared before Sharon. "Is my daughter, Lucifer, alright? I foresaw her going into shock in a prophecy........." "Yes, sir. Her heart rate is back to normal. But she refuses to talk to anyone. She even shooed away the nurses. To visit her would be unwise-" "I just want to clarify that she's OK." Waka walked into the room Lucifer was in. He held her hand. Strangely, she talked to him. "Where's Toboe?" "I'm here." Toboe stepped into view from behind Waka. "Did you really lie to me, father? About mother............." He let out a long sigh. "I'm sorry. I did. But it was only so you wouldn't end up like this on the beginning of your journey...." "I know. Please tell me though.........did I hurt anyone after she died?" All was silent. "I did......didn't I?" Toboe interrupted to stop the upcoming argument that was bound to come, "Don't add more grief onto yourself, Lucy." Break came into the room, completely changing the aura of it. Today, he was wearing his usual happy-go-lucky smile, making it seem like nothing happened at all. "Toboe, I believe we should make our leave now," Both Waka and Toboe dissolved in an instant. Break walked up to Lucifer. "Please do not hold a grudge against me..........I truly was not watching the way I talked to you. But don't hurt yourself. No one that loves you wants to see that. I am one of them." He leaned down and kissed her on the lips. Like always, she blushed fiery red. Break helped her out of the bed. "Are you feeling any better?" "Much." "Good. Because tonight the Reinsworth mansion will be hosting a ball." "Really? Who will the guests be?" "Just you and me." Lucifer giggled. "Then we mustn't we late!" Quietly, they both slipped into the actual ballroom. Like a gentleman, Break offered his hand. "Care to dance?" Accepting it, she answered back, "Why of course sir, thank you." They moonlit couple swirled and twirled around the ballroom like there was a real ball going on. It amused them both that their dancing was perfect. "Break?" "Yes, Madame?" "Do you think we should get married?" He stopped dancing then. "Well.......aren't you a bit young for that?" She replied with a straightforward, "No." Lucifer resumed the dancing."We both love each other will all our heart..........but I think Lady Sharon might get a bit jealous." "But you saved my life......twice! No, three times! Shouldn't that be a good enough reason?" "I guess." He's obviously playing with me, Lucifer thought. Randomly out of the blue, a vision flashed into her mind. Her body stopped moving in reality. "Miss?" There was a knife, she stabbed, blood squirted............and she loved it. "Miss Lucifer......what's wrong?" In a strange and odd manner, she grinned. No, it wasn't a good grin. More of an evil 'I will kill you,' one. That vision showed her the fun of murder summed up. "I want blood. Blood." Break took a step back, but Lucifer got to him quicker. She grasped her hands around his neck. He grabbed her arms; however, she didn't let go. "Stop, look at yourself." A new voice entered the couple's ears. Lucifer released her grasp on his neck and looked up. A shining white wolf with crimson markings stood before her. "Daughter Lucifer.......I shall rid the evil spirit that is causing you to think murderous thoughts." The wolf ran through Lucifer, causing her to faint. It turned around to face Break. "Do not blame her for this incident. It is my shadow at work again. Be on your guard, and protect her more than you plan to." She leapt into the air and disappeared. Picking up Lucifer, he whispered in her ear, "Why must you be the target of everything evil?" Going back towards the emergency room where Lucifer previously was, he thought of who that wolf was. That's it! That was her mother, Amaterasu. Has her soul not come in peace yet? She did say, It is my shadow at work again. Did that mean it was out to seek revenge? No, by going suicide Amaterasu killed it. Was it just like her soul, waiting for peace?
Chapter 12: To Be Cautious
Lucifer groaned, realizing she was yet again in the emergency room. Lucky for her, Break was there. "What did I do now?" she mumbled sarcastically. Break laughed for once. "Nothing, you were just dehydrated." Then, a new taste came into Lucifer's mouth. More blood; wait a minute, she wasn't dehydrated. Almost killing her lover, she remembered the scene she caused a few minutes ago. The way to go........what to do......leaving wouldn't help; Vincent would take the chance to kidnap her. But now was the most dangerous time for Break. What would happen if Lucifer went psychotic? He wouldn't be able to fight back. He just loved her too much. Perhaps if she was locked away. That seemed like the best solution. Striking like a needle to her heart, Lucifer remembered what she asked Break, Do you think we should get married? "NO! I JUST CAN'T!!!" "Cannot what, Miss Lucifer?" Ooops, she said that out loud. "Well, looks like there's no way out of this. I believe..........I'm going psychotic. You have to take me away!!! Or else I might accidentally hurt you!" "No, no. Even if you are psychotic, I will live with you through the pain." "You will not!" "Yes, Lucifer. It's just too bad for me, 'cause I promised myself never to let go of you again." Her heart rate quickened. No no no! This was not the correct path for him! Why wouldn't he give up?!? To test and show Break how psychotic she was, she went into wolf form. Pain shot up through her body, and down to her legs. Break reached down to calm her down, and she bit. Bit into flesh. Oh no. Before Lucifer could let go, the taste of the blood got to her brain. A wolf's instinct won't let go of that taste. The only one who could get her to stop was another wolf. Toboe wouldn't come to Break's rescue just like that. She had to give in, or Break would die from blood lose. "Lu.....ci......." Collapsing to the floor, Break shed a tear. Sharon entered the room, of course, at the wrong time. Lunging, Lucifer got a hold of her shoulder. Fortunately, Sharon screamed. Nurses and doctors came rushing in to the bloody mess. No one, though, dared to go in the room. Would you go in a room splattered with blood with a wolf? They would all die, this taste of blood was too sweet for her. It was too late to save her now. Was it even the real Lucifer now? After a few seconds, no one still came in. "HELP ME HELP ME!!!!! THIS ISN'T LUCIFER!!!" Did Sharon just say.......this wasn't Lucifer? This was, that was for sure. But the nurses and doctors didn't know that. "GO, GO! GET HELP!!! HELP ME!!!!!!!" A strong force ran into Lucifer, making her release Sharon. "Sharon!!! Break! What happened?!?!" It was Alice, Oz, and Gilbert to the rescue! Instead of Alice, there was a gigantic rabbit. The rabbit was wearing her clothes, so it was her. Gilbert took out a gun, and shot it. Hitting Lucifer, she howled in pain. The bullet didn't just cause pain; it paralyzed her. That gave Alice a shot of attack again. Her scythe raised, then lowered. What followed was a blanket of shadow.
Chapter 13: Rose of the Past
"Break-kun.....! Break-kun.......! Why am I alone? Where are you?!" All there was in the still darkness was a voice. "I didn't want to die! Or kill you! BREAK!!" There was no reply. "I just wanted to keep you safe.....why were you so stubborn?!!!! Couldn't you just except the fact that I was trying to protect you?!??!?" Drip. What was that? Something dripping? So there IS life here. As the shadow approached the point from where the sound came from, a teardrop appeared. Someone had cried. But why? This place was empty. In it appeared a blood smeared wolf chopped in two. That was Lucifer, but she felt her conscious here. "That's me??!?!" It truly did look pitiful. In the corner was a woman in a purple dress, also drenched in blood. Someone picked her up and screamed. The person screamed, "WHY?!?!" I killed her, Lucifer realized with a start. Suddenly, the drop of water vanished. In its place remained a rose. Its eerie darkness just spelled evil. "Thou who has left the world of living has committed such sins as to be sent to judgment. Thou can either be returned to there or sent to the hell cruel souls reside in depending on the purity of your soul. Thee shall determine that." Mentally shaking, Lucifer knew that this was the judgment that determines whether you get to live again or not. Finally, after a minute of thinking, the rose spoke. "What does thou live for?" Trying to speak like the voice, Lucifer replied, "Thee strives to keep a certain person happy and protected throughout their life." "If thou was returned, what would thou do?" Ok, the "thee" and "thou" got a little annoying. "If I was returned, I would be sure to set things right by healing up Break and Sharon and apologizing for the terror and sadness I brought. But there is no way I can revive the dead; at least, I don't think I can." "What is your wish?" "To stay by Break and never hurt him again, mentally or physically." The rose dissolved in sparkles, and Lucifer was almost blinded by a flash of white. Did I pass the test? Before people started forming, a voice said, "Collateral must be exchanged in order to live again. I shall take........." The voice was interrupted. "YOU SHALL TAKE NOTHING FROM HER!!!!!" As Lucifer blinked into reality, she realized 1. she was still in one piece 2. the vision in the teardrop was a lie and 3. Alice was confronting what looked like a rabbit stuffed animal. She sliced it in two with her scythe, destroying it. Immediately after nurses came rushing in, picking up Break, Lucifer, and Sharon. The others, along with Lucifer, were set on beds to be given surgery to. Needles were pricked into her, and she felt the world begin to close down again. Panicking, Lucifer saw somehow the needles had no effect on relaxing her. But when she closed her eyes, she drifted off to sleep. Oddly, no dreams appeared. It was like a nightmarish land, seeing nothing but black. Eventually, worry had arisen her. She had no clue how Break was feeling, so she got up and walked over to him, stunning the nurses with her amazing healing rate. "Break-kun, I'm right here. If you need anything-" "No, Lucifer. Do not worry. I will most likely die-" "You will not! Trust me, as long as I'm here, we're dying together!" Being careful not to scare him, she stroked his cheek with her hand, going up his face. Something seemed wrong. This was supposed to be the empty eye socket she was feeling. Instead it was a prickly thing. Shoving his bangs out of the way, she gasped. There was a black rose in it's place. "BREAK WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR EYE SOCKET?!?!" "Oh that, that the........black rabbit.......did....." "This is terrible! Tell me everything that happened." "All I remember is that I wished that you never got hurt.......and I had to pay a price. Not knowing what the price was, I thought we could escape this fate. It seems I am possibly wrong. Also, a voice said ripping out the rose would kill me. So just don't touch it." "I will never leave your side; if there is anything at all you need, let me know." In a heartbeat, his eyes widened. "Wha- what is this?" Lucifer pathetically stared at him. Not another thing. Another heartbeat later, he somehow snapped back into reality. "My past.........." "You saw it?" What was he talking about, 'my past'? "That is correct. It's as if this flower has known me for eternity and is trying to make me suffer...." Knocking at the door interrupted the silence. Actually calmly, Lucifer said, "Hello? Come in." Lady Sharon entered upon response, looking plainly perfect in her usual purple dress as though Lucifer had done her no harm. Smiling warmly, she quietly sat down. "You and I, Break, have been asked to attend a meeting at the Bezarius Mansion. They said it was urgent, and that, specifically, our "girl with wolf ears" cannot attend. Maybe it's confidential business. Anyway, it begins in 5 hours." "Ok, I'm in perfect condition to go," With ease, he arose from the bed. "Lucifer, we'll have your father and Toboe babysit you, since there is nothing to do here." Putting on a pouting face on, she replied in a firm tone, "Fine." Clearly it was obviously she didn't want to leave him. They hurried to the carriage in the front lawn, and off they went. This 'meeting' seemed a little suspicious. When the group arrived at Waka's house, Lucifer gave Break and Sharon a lovable hug. As if *predicted* the door opened. "Ma cherie! What brings you here? Just a visit?" "LUCY!!!!!!!!!!" Toboe, in human form, glomped her. "Hey, hey, it's just that Lady Sharon and Break have a meeting to attend, and I need to be *babysat*." "That's fine too. Toboe has probably missed you much. You could play with him." Playing with him meant wrestled with him in wolf form. "Alright. Goodbye, Sharon, Break. See you after the meeting."
Chapter 14: Diclonius
At the Confidential Meeting
The Bezarius mansion was warm and inviting, even though oddly Oz was not there. "This way, please." A servant led Sharon and Break to an average sized room, where Oscar Bezarius and two unknown others were sitting down at a large table. Oscar was Oz's uncle, and was known by mostly everyone. "Hello, I am glad both of you are in condition to attend, thank you. I have a very serious matter to announce. It involves your friend, Lucifer, I believe." Calmness turning to shock, Break almost got up out of his seat. "What about her?!?" "Xerxes, calm down. As I said, it is a serious matter. Of what she truly is. With extensive research, we have found out she is not just a wolf, but a Diclonius. A Diclonius is an evolutionary branch-off of humans. Their bodies are very similar to humans', the only difference being the two horn-like protrusions. Extensive research has also told us that Diclonius would fall into a coma if they lose one of their horns, and would never return from their lethargic state if they lose both horns. Their powers involve the usage of invisible arms, known as "vectors" that can grasp and impact things as if they are solid, but also become insubstantial and pass through objects. They can slice objects as well, which is how Diclonius kill their victims. Vectors usually have a limited range of a few meters, but the length varies from Diclonius to Diclonius. Diclonius also have the ability to detect the location of others of their kind. If there was another in the immediate area, Lucifer would be able to seek it out. Along with the vectors, they get a second personality; sometimes it is one. It is a personality where the Diclonius seems psychotic, and only wants to kill. You may or may not have had an experience like this." To tell anyone would be just plain dangerous, so Break replied solemnly, "No, Oscar. I have not." "Soon you may, though. Diclonius acquire their vectors at the age of three, so beware. If I were you, I would stay away from that girl." No one could tell what Break's expression was, for he looking down, staying solitary. Lady Sharon realized this first, for she asked,"Break....? Does something trouble you?" "WHY WOULDN'T I BE TROUBLED?!?!?! I AM TOLD TO STAY AWAY FROM MY LOVE AFTER ALL THAT WE'VE BEEN THROUGH?!?!" He was crying, which was unusual for him. This subject was causing him much pain. "Oscar, is there anything we can do to stop her?" "There is only one solution. To annihilate her." "WHAT?!?! NO!!! SUCH A THING WILL NOT BE DONE!!!!!" "Xerxes Break, it is for the good of us all! She might be murdering others now as we speak! There is no other option!" "I REFUSE!!!!!" Lucifer was indeed not murdering, but something made her suspicious.
At Waka's
After a full hour of wrestling, Toboe and Lucifer took a nap. At first, she was blank, then Lucifer seemed to be warped to the world of her dreams. Many hands were taking her and grabbing her as though she will destroy the universe. They pinned her down, making her struggle as hard as she could. But they just would not release her. Even in wolf form, she was no match against this unknown enemy. Over and over, she shouted, "RELEASE ME PUTRID CREATURES! RELEASE ME!" There were no voices, but it seemed as though the whole world was blaming her for unknown sins. In the midst of all this, she looked for someone recognizable. Not even Break. A shadowed figure lifted what looked like a cleaver, and perfectly cut her right leg off. The pain took so much control of her body, she could struggle no more. Above her own yelping, a voice finally spoke. "Diclonius shall die for eternity!" Whatever a Diclonius was, Lucifer knew she definitely was not one of the sort. There went her left leg. Yelping some more, her front arms were cut off. She was guessing her head was next. When this hell would end, she did not know. Endlessly Lucifer tried to awaken, but reality would not come. "I'm sorry, Lucifer. I hope we can meet again in a new, different time." That was Break's voice; there was no doubt about it. Then the shadowy figure was revealed to be him. "WHY ARE YOU DOING SUCH A THING!??!!!" "It's for everyone's own good." She caught a tear rolling down his cheek, then the cleaver fell down upon her neck. Obviously, nothing followed that scene. Again, like her possibly first death, darkness enshrouded her. "Lucifer. Lucifer." Who would call her in her moments of death? Out of nowhere, Waka appeared in a burst of light. "You are in no ordinary dream, or should I say nightmare. In the real world, you cannot awaken. I must take you back through telepathy. That is the only means of escape." The only senses available to Lucifer were sight and sound. In a heartbeat, she was lying awake on the floor, covered in sweat, tears covering her face. "Oh my god Lucifer are you actually alive?!? I was so worried! You were yelping like you were being murdered!" "That's exactly what was happening in the nightmare Toboe....." she said, a little hoarsely. "All we care about is that you are out of harm's way." Waka just so happened to be sitting right there. "Oh, well, you were much too late for that." Both Waka and Toboe nodded solemnly. "Toboe, could you go fetch a washcloth and soak it in cold water?" "Of course." "Despite how much you need it, I don't think sleep will do any good now." In an instant, Toboe came back with the washcloth and laid it upon Lucifer's head. "Am I still intact?" "Yes, ma cherie, very." "I have scars or wounds?" "No, you don't. Why do you ask?" "W-well, in my dream.........hands were holding me down, and my limbs were being sliced off one by one. They said something about Diclonius.....dying for eternity............am I a Diclonius?" "Excuse-moi, what is a Diclonius?" "I have no clue. Maybe Break might know........I'll ask him when he picks me back up."
Chapter 15: Relief To Stay Away
Quietly, before the gathering ended, Oscar whispered to Lady Sharon, "Diclonius can reproduce offspring. Make sure she mates with no one." She had a look on her face that meant she was completely confused. Break and Sharon got up, and the gathering concluded. The time was close to sunset, and it was dangerous to travel at night. He did stop crying, but Break would not change his attitude until Waka's small cottage appeared in sight. Exactly when the carriage stopped moving Break opened the door. At the same time, Lucifer opened the door to the house. Her face lit up with glee. Running over to each other, they embraced. They were making a big deal out of the situation like they were apart for a day, but the experience was just the same; fearing the other's life was in terrible danger. "Break I'm so glad you both are alive!!" He pulled away. "Why would we be hurt?" Letting out a long sigh, she told of her nightmare hell. After she finished, Break looked like he had something on his mind. "The meeting........Lucifer............................" A long pause later, he finished, "...........................was about you." "What did the people there say about me?!?" His voice started to crack. "They told us of how you are a Diclonius and the danger you carry. In my opinion, I didn't want to believe them; they mentioned that the only option is to..........is to..........kill you." Almost falling over, Lucifer's eyes were wide with fear. The dream foreshadowed the future. Quickly, she stepped far away from Break. Just like the dream, everyone would abandon her. So to avoid it all, she retreated to her inner mind. A girl that looked like her duplicate approached. It lightly touched her shoulder. The humans want to kill you. They have never shown love and caring to a single one of us. One of us, what did that mean? "N-no, you're wrong! Break has loved and cared me for as long as I've known him!" But in the end, humans leave you weakened and exposed and take the chance to destroy you. Kill them now, or they will kill you first. The mysterious doppelganger disappeared, only leaving a burning desire to murder those who stand in the way. "I must kill them now, or they will kill me first," Lucifer said in real life, echoing the person's words. "Lucifer......I said I didn't-" Vectors invisible to the human eye released from her back and pinned Break down. "Humans must die first. We shall be defeated if they are not annihilated." A glowing green sword sliced off one of her vectors. "WHAT?!!?" Waka gracefully landed about three meters away. "Do not make me hurt you, ma cherie. Only you can realize the correct path to go. If you fail at this, I shall make you have to pay the consequences." "Stay out of my way!" One of her vectors grabbed Waka's arm, the one that held that held his weapon. With ease, it was removed. Blood drenched the entire ground, making everyone present panic. "WAKA!!!!!" Toboe ran over to him, but Waka shoved him away. "Get Break and Sharon out of here as fast as you can, now!!!" As Toboe ran over to Lady Sharon, he was lifted into the air by an invisible force, then slammed to the ground. Now that he was unconscious, Lucifer turned to finish her business with Break. "I shall let you live; you are the only one deserving of it. But next time you threaten me, you'll be joining the dead." Sharon tried to run, but Lucifer noticed her and took a step closer. Break grabbed her ankle, and something hard whacked his wrist, making it snap. What it was, he could not see. Taking another step towards Sharon, Sharon ran. Lucifer was going to kill her no doubt about that. Where was there to run? Back to the Reinsworth mansion, of course. Before Lucifer could take another step forward, she was bashed in the side by another wolf. White with crimson markings, her mother had come back. Impossible. She was long dead. Turning into a wolf was impossible, too, because Lucifer was so consumed by her other, psychotic, personality. Avoiding all her vectors, Amaterasu lunged, landing directly on her. "Don't let go of the pleasures in life you have. Easily they can slip away." "Lies! There were no pleasures to begin with! Those were only delusions to distract me." "If you let life fade away like this, no good will come. Just more misery and pain to influence you to keep killing." In seconds, out-of-the-blue, Lucifer crumpled to the ground. "Mother help me this is not truly-ah! My time is running out, kill me now, just end this nightmare. And heal the bruised others, for they have lived through an era of disarray. I need-..............." To the ground she fell, writhing in pain. "No! Break, I need you to kill me. I would die a happy death that way. Please answer my prayer, Break! And hurry, before I regain my pitiful side of despair!" "I promised I would not leave you, and you promised as long as you were here, we would die together. If it is your wish to leave this world, there is no other choice but to join you." "......no..............Xerxes Break..............let her live, and be sure to stay alive, so run!" Why was Waka interrupting?!? Quickly changing, Lucifer swiveled her head around to face Waka. "Leave us alone!" Her vectors were about to grab him, but Amaterasu sliced them in half. "YOU-" Right when she was about to speak, Amaterasu jumped in front of her and gripped one of her horn-like protrusions, yanking it off. Just like what they said at the meeting, Lucifer collapsed into a coma.
Chapter 16: If I Was Not
A coma for Lucifer would involve dreams, yes, it would. But then again, this wasn't exactly a dream. It was as though she were in a recollection of the past and the present. The setting was at a town square, all run down with no sign of life anywhere. Until then.......a girl jumped in front of Human Lucifer. "Hey what do you think you're doing, opening a time warp?!?!" She had light brunette hair, a purple corset with matching gloves and boots, a white cravat, a purple butterfly hairpin, and purple eyes. When she squinted, she yet again spoke, "Don't tell me.......you're the Diclonius that I would have been. That's right, if I was a Diclonius, I would look exactly like you." "So if I wasn't a Diclonius, I would look like you?" she replied quietly. "Precisely. It's really a shame, you must be from the other world, the one with all the tragedies and despair." Confused, Lucifer blinked. "How do you-" "I know because I don't dream, I see your world. And you should be thanking me too, I saved your life. This is twice. Remember the teardrop you saw in death?" Barely being able to keep up, Lucifer nodded in astonishment. "That wasn't a lie. I used my own powers to save you. Also, you should be treating the people around you with a lot more respect. They love you, and they've even said so. But you just ignore them. Stay like this, and forever you shall be hated and tortured. Poor Break........he's convinced to stay away from you, and Waka now only has one arm." "WHAT!?! Why-" "Stop it! You are always "why why why why?" but you know. You know you caused such things. Don't worry; in your own mind, you wouldn't understand. The Diclonius personality is different from the true you. It has caused all this havoc. Trying to fight it, though, you never do. You feel so miserable you think that personality will fix it all. Never, ever depend on it." Feeling slightly more confident, Lucifer asked, "Why are you telling me these things?" "Because I'm trying to change you. Not many have been able to get rid of their psychotic side, but it's possible. I'm trying to make it possible with you." "Exactly what do I have to do to destroy it?" "Feel more confidence. Hey, either way, Diclonius or not, you're still a wolf. Thank Amaterasu for that." "You're mother is Amaterasu as well?" "Yes, and my father is Waka. But my parents are a different kind, even though they look and act the same as yours. That's how a space warp is, for your info. What you opened seems to be a space and time warp." "That means Break is in this world?!?!" "Well, no. The odd thing is, there is only one Break. However, I have a companion too. He is gone right now, searching for any human activity here. You see, we travel from abandoned town to abandoned town in search of more human civilization." "What are you talking about?" "Because of the space warp, when you arrived here your existence made just about everything vanish. Because of the time warp, it seems like you have been here for minutes, but it took me a year to find you." "My, my. This is terrible! How do I get back to my own world?" "You're in a coma. Your soul warped, not your body. Just settle down, you haven't died at home." Just then, a strange man walked up to them. Exactly like Break, he was missing a left eye, though it was blue. Also, he somewhat looked like him, though this person had blond hair. His eyes turned to slits, like a............vampire. Vampires and wolves were mortal enemies. Immediately Lucifer turned into her wolf form. No matter who you are or where you are, you cannot stop a vampire/wolf fight. Her tail twitched aggressively from side to side. "Fai, stop. This girl is that Diclonius me I was talking about. If you kill her, you kill me." This made him very worried. "How could it be? She is in another dimension. It's-" "No, it's not impossible. She's in a coma in her world." There was no reason any more to be a wolf, so Lucifer went back into human form. "What's a vampire doing here?!" "What, you think they don't exist? A few exist in this dimension," the girl replied sharply back, "and this is my companion. Fai D. Fluorite." "Nice to make your acquaintance." Lucifer tried to sound friendly. "It is the same here." Fai replied, all of a sudden in a happier mood. "Ah, do you wish to get back to your world?" "O-of course, yes, I do." Embarrassed by how much nicer he was than her, Lucifer blushed. "Oh, that's right! What's your name?" "My name..............well, cause we're different, Lucifer won't work....." "You're Lucifer too??!?!" "Well, duh! I'm you, remember?" "So, ladies, have we come to an agreement on what to do next?" "Not quite. Lucifer, you remember all I've told you?" "Your 'advice'? Yeah, I remember. I'm guessing you're expecting me to use it in the future?" "Uh-huh. Also remember the other part I told you. No one will be happy to see you, unless you make a new impression of yourself. Fight back when your other side tries to make an opening. Without fighting your Diclonius side, you'll end up dead in no time. Take these words into consideration, and don't run away. Either you let the Diclonius you do all the talking or you run. Now, you need to stay where you are and stand." "Ok, I know I'll do better this time. Now, exactly how do I exit this coma?" Strangely, the 'other' Lucifer let out a long sigh. "No way of avoiding it now! You're gonna love this...............we have to go with you." "Oh really? That's fine." Without warning, Fai took out an odd looking staff with crystals on it. "OOoooooo.......shiny..........." "Cut it out, Lucifer! This is a serious matter. Or do you not want to go back?" "Sorry. But it is...!" Both Lucifers arguing with each other was funny. The staff started glowing, and the three started fading away. "This seems surprisingly simple." "No, Lucifer, it's not. Just because your existence is here, that makes means of traveling dimensions easier." With those last words, they completely faded away.
Chapter 17: Restoring The Past For Good
"............Lucifer? Is it true that you are conscious?" Blinking awake, the Diclonius Lucifer stared at the person confronting her. "Break......I...." She was about to ask how could he stand being near her, but then remembered her mirror told her to toughen up. "I'm sorry. No matter what way you look at it, I have done much wrong. If only I would have fought the other side of me, you would have been ok, along with everyone else. No one would have gotten hurt, at all." Lucifer looked around the room. To herself, she muttered, "Where are her and Fai......." "Who? You and I are the only ones here. Everyone one else refused to take care of you, after seeing the damage you had done. But, I say this yet again, I promised I won't leave you, ever. Even if want to kill me." "Break, I also say this yet again, but I don't want to kill you. That other me does, though, and is willing to. That is why I'm fighting her." "Lucifer........you've changed. How come....?" "Let's just say..............................someone and I had a little talk." Closing her eyes, she reminisced talking with the 'other' Lucifer. Suddenly remembering what else she did, she asked Break, "What happened to Waka? He's not dead,..............right? I mean, he's the only living person related to me!" "I don't know! As soon as you fell, I took you and ran for it. Because I knew if you were left there one more second, someone would take the chance to end you for good." "Where do we go now? Seriously, did we ever think about that?" Currently, they appeared to be in some cave-like formation. Smiling in a creepy grin, he replied, "No. Looks like we're stuck here for now." Moaning, Lucifer got up. "Well, while I was in a coma, I met some people. I think they accidentally got separated from me. If we find them, then everything can be explained in detail." Then, Break fell on the floor writhing in pain. "Break....! Is it that rose again?!?!" "YES!!!! It's burning!!! Take it out-now!! I don't care how much I bleed!!!" With her vectors, she grasped the thorn-covered black rose. Even though her vectors were stronger than human arms, the rose would not budge. To distract Break, she kissed him roughly on the lips. Then did the rose give way. Dripping with blood, Lucifer threw it against the cave wall. Fai and the other Lucifer entered the cave. "Fai, why would she be- Lucifer!! What the heck happened?! Can't you stay still for 5 minutes?!?" "Busy saving a life here!" "Well, you're doing it wrong!" "In what way exactly?!?!?!" "Do you have any bandages? No!" "But it was happening all so fast......and he said take it out immediately." "Fine fine. This will be an exception, just because he's alive. As for now, he needs medical treatment." "There's none in the area!" Everyone just halted, thinking what to do next. Break wiped his eye with his sleeve as though this were of no importance. "I'm okay, really. I've had this happen before in the past, and that rose wasn't lodged too far into my head." "And thank goodness for that!" "Lucifer, really, just calm down. Who are these people?" "Yeah.............friends. Fai is the blond, and the other is.........um.......she's my..............uh..........she's my mirror, so she's Lucifer too. But that would make it hard to tell us apart." "Well actually, we won't be here very long so it won't be a problem for very long." The other Lucifer replied straightly. She nodded towards Fai, and he nodded back. With that motion, he took out his staff and it began glowing. "Good-bye, Miss Lucifer. It is about time we make our leave. Don't forget that we are always in an alternate dimension, so your actions may affect us." After a long pause, Lucifer said, "Okay, I will watch my actions this time. Will I ever see you again?" "If you screw up again, I'll come fix you up. However, I can only come when you do something. If you aren't harmed, then I can't come. Also, though, I believe you're strong enough to take care of yourself. You should be able to after 12 years." Break's eyes widened. "What?! You're only 12 years old?!" "Yes, Break, I am but because I'm a wolf I mature quickly." Apparently, this was surprising to Break. He thought she was much older, like in her 20s or 30s. But 12? To relieve him, Lucifer giggled. "So what! Oh well, good-bye Lucifer." Fai and alter Lucifer started to yet again fade away. "Be cautious, Lucifer. Soon, only you can save yourself and the loved ones around you." She couldn't linger around, and she faded away completely with Fai. The lovers left just stared at each other for a while. "I can't believe-" "-nor can I. You are actually here, actually safe." He embraced her, and she inhaled his sweet scent, wrapping her arms around him as well. His body was warm, and the temperature in the cave felt like freezing. A single tear escaped from her eye. I could stay like this forever........I wish I could. Nothing would ever separate us again, ever. Sadly, her wish wouldn't come true. Even she knew that. So she absorbed every moment of his presence. Suddenly, Break picked Lucifer up, making her quietly yelp. "Come on now; let's take a walk outside. Outside, it was just as cold as the cave. There were even white specks floating down from the sky.
