its Christmas day, yes it’s true.
Stockings full, Santa came through.
Everyone’s happy, filled with glee.
Oh how I wish, this glee-less me.
As young kids awake at dawn,
To find snow across the lawn,
I sit in bed, curled and lonely.
How could this happen- Such'a catastrophe?
I feel so lost, so hurt, so confused.
It feels as if the world laughs, so amused.
I pull the covers over my head.
As I lie alone in my bed.
Alone in this world, no one left.
Not even me, no heart in my chest.
Broken and destroyed, torn away...
New born cavity filled with dismay.
Just six more days, then we start anew…
Just replace those pictures, those dates and names.
Forget all those losses, failures and shames.
It’s 01/01 that year is done.
Lets start again, have some fun.
I wish it so, I wish I could.
Just forget it all and start again.
All these wounds healed and mend’.
I have but one wish today
Not for snow, not for money
Not a million presents or a fuzzy bunny
But to see him again, my best friend again.
Just one more time
