This is sort of based on my previous post. Enjoy!
Her heart fluttered wildly in her chest as she stood waiting for her luggage. The Florida airport was packed with people, most of them there for some sort of vacation. But not her. She was there to experience the most nervewracking thing possible-she was there to meet her soulmate.
They had been in touch since October the previous year and now, in June, they were finally getting to meet. Out of nervousness, she ran her hand absently down her arm as she glanced about. Finally, a bright red suitcase rolled along the conveyer belt. She grabbed the handle and pulled it off, knowing she could delay this no longer. Not that she didn't want to meet him; no, far from it. She was simply terrified that she would not be what he had expected.
Dragging her suitcase behind her, she made her way to the elevator and caught a glimpse of herself in a wall-mounted mirror. She was a girl of sixteen, though she looked older, with bright blue eyes and dark brown hair pulled up in a tail at the back of her head. Her nose was long but not abnormal and her body was built like an athelete's. She wore blue jeans and a simple blue shirt with a white camisole underneath. She was the picture of ordinary, yet something about her had caught his eye.
She could hardly believe her luck when he first told her he loved her. She had never been loved by someone other than family before. She was not the type of girl that boys tended to like. She was tall and largely built and had a refined way of speaking that was intimidating to many boys. Her manner was often serious but she could be very odd when the mood struck. She had never had a boyfriend or even had a boy tell her he liked her. But this one had changed all that.
He was absolutely everything she could have hoped for. He was handsome and sweet, kind and extremely funny. He had made her laugh more than she had ever laughed before. Never had she been as happy as when he was speaking to him. She had waited for this moment her whole life.
The elevator dinged and she stepped out. But as her suitcase hit a bump on the floor, she stumbled and found herself tripping on her own feet. Mortified, she was about to push herself to her feet when an outstretched hand appeared.
"Need help?" a sweetly familiar voice asked.
She looked up, startled, and there he was, precisely as she knew him from pictures. He was absolutely perfect and her heart jumped to the vicinity of her throat. She took his hand gratefully and her pulled her to her feet. They looked at eachother for a long while and finally he grinned. "Hey, beautiful," he said.
His smile was infectious and she found herself grinning back. "Hey," she said before realizing that he was still holding her hand. Flushing, she took it back and he cocked his head slightly. He reached out and brushed a piece of hair from her forehead that had come loose from her ponytail. That simple touch sent sparks through them both and without knowing how it happened, the distance between them dissapeared. She was pressed to him just as she had often imagined and their lips met. It was her first kiss, and she wouldn't have had it with anyone but him.
