Chapter 1: Not a Heart Warming Story

The grass is floating with the beat of the wind, with every twist and thrust. The zombies are chasing and running to the smell of any survivor. Thats the life of survivors, freedom is always taken from these monsters.

Felix walks into the opening of the fields, he stands there watching the zombies off the large distance. He just stands there like a mountain with his military gear in check, heavy duty pants lined with bullets and holes revealing under clothing for protection, pistols on his sides. and most importantly his best friend, his shotgun. He slowly walks towards the horde of zombies who seem to be only searching and feasting on already dead meals. He draws just one pistol and lets only one bullet out, catching his prey in the head.

"My my" Felix begin to say as the other zombies turned their heads to look at him, "Did I just give your brain some company AND interrupt your dinner?" The zombies jolt towards Felix with their arms out to rip in to shreds. "Oh" Felix gestures his hands on his body and leans back a bit, "I'm your dinner now? Aw, you should really have the appetizer, I made it myself!" Felix draws his other pistol out and lets out ten shots, leaving the small horde dead in their tracks.

He reloads both pistols and locks the hammer back. "I should start wasting less ammo, never know when one might catch me off guard." Felix thinks in his head as he makes his way through the opening field. He finally stops walking when he stands on a hill, overseeing the entire city.

A once thriving city now shambled into the ground of this infection. Even the building suffer from the infections grasp. Maybe even God would feel this impact if he was one of these buildings. Felix starts to walk down until a woman comes toward his side, rambling in her speech. As she grabs Felix, he reverses her unto the ground and draws his pistol towards her head. "Nasty ********.. Can't even have a moment to myself can I?" Before he pulls the trigger, a small cry comes from the woman as she begins to talk, "Please... help me... my children are trapped and the zombies might kill them."

Felix helps the woman back to her legs and looks at her carefully. Never does he let his guard drop, not once. He looks straight at her and replies, "Leave them behind, they might slow them down for you to escape." He turns his back and heads into the city, but she grabs his shoulder again, "Please! We have to!" Felix firmly grabs her wrist and twists her around and throws her off him. He turns to look at her and replies, "So, you want to go back for the children YOU left behind with MY help right?" The woman doesn't reply and Felix continues, "So you just ran away from the zombies and after your a** was saved, you remembered the little craps that you had left behind to save yourself? If you really were a mom, you would have died with them. I won't risk my life for your failure as a mom. If anything, I'll do you a favor: Kill them myself."

Felix starts to walk down the hill, hearing her sob in her own tears. He doesn't hesitate in his movement towards the town. He stops and looks at the avenue sign and reads:

WARNING! ZOMBIES EVERYWHERE! RUN!

Felix laughs a bit as he keeps walking down the street and makes a small remark to the sign, "If zombies are everywhere, where do you run idiot?" The sun sinks slowly into the horizon as Felix keeps making his way around this forgotten and dammed city of this Infection.
