Soooo.
We had the read-through today.
It was okay.
My British accent is decent, though that's to be expected.
So, I was running late to rehearsal (my dad teaches a karate class on Saturdays, so I'm always a bit late on Saturday rehearsals) and I was hurrying to get inside. And that's when I found out that yet ANOTHER person I was close to died. On Wednesday.
Where Larry's photograph had been in the little entranceway into the theatre, another had taken its place. April (the woman who died), legally blind since birth, was battling cancer for years, and apparently she lost. What's so frustrating is that if there's anyone that doesn't deserve to die, it's her. She was what, thirty-something? All that woman EVER cared about was other people. We need more like her in the world, and she was taken away just like that. I guess we just doesn't deserve people like her.
But by far the worst part is how Christian she was. I have nothing against Christians, that's not what I mean. I mean, what did she think when time after time she found herself in the hospital, getting treatment after treatment? Did she think she was being punished for something? Because she was one of the best people I've ever known, and she didn't deserve anything she got.
So yeah, I've been pretty pissed off all day. Life sucks.

Shrouded in black, the mysterious bird creeps to the edge of the sky. It peeps down at the world beneath its feet, shivering a little. A flutter of wings reveals a glowing orange light as it plummets to the ground below, announcing the arrival of dawn. I sit by and drink a cup of black coffee.
