Feelin' pretty down. My voice teacher (whom I was close to) died Thursday, so I've been kind of miserable. It was probably a heart attack. He was a chain smoker, so I guess it's not entirely unexpected. His memorial service is on the same day as my birthday AND my party (September 6th) so now I have to dissuade forty-three people from trying to smash cake in my face like they did last year.
In other news, my birthday's coming up! Well, obviously. I'm gonna be fourteen in a week. I don't want to grow up more. Sigh.
I need help picking out two t-shirts for a birthday present (for me). I'm already getting this one and my dad says I can pick out two more, because they're doing a sale on four tees. My dad's getting one so that leaves me with two more.

Shrouded in black, the mysterious bird creeps to the edge of the sky. It peeps down at the world beneath its feet, shivering a little. A flutter of wings reveals a glowing orange light as it plummets to the ground below, announcing the arrival of dawn. I sit by and drink a cup of black coffee.
