Later~
Kakuzu blinked a few times as he rubbed his eyes. The last thing he could remember was Hidan feeding him soup then leaving, and it seems that that soup had actually worked a bit. Kakuzu didn’t feel shivers anymore, nor did he have a throbbing headache. The man looked at the clock next to the bed… 7:56 p.m. Kakuzu’s eyes widened, ‘I’ve been in bed all day?!’ he thought as he sat up from his pillow. The man pulled up his mask as slipped on his cloak. He was still a little dizzy from being in bed so long, but that was probably normal. “Hidan?...” Kakuzu called out. A few minutes later, he spotted the said person walking from his room with his belongings. “What’re you doing?” Kakuzu asked, raising an eyebrow. “Stupid b***h-face said I had to move outta my room and into yours.” Hidan glared. “b***h-face..?” Kakuzu asked. “Pein.” “Oh.” “Anyways, do I need a sleeping bag, or something?” Hidan asked. “Why do you ask?” Kakuzu wondered. “Duh, stupid. I’m moving in.” Hidan said with a roll of his eyes. Kakuzu nodded weakly, “Oh yeah.” “Kakuzu…you okay?” Hidan asked. “Yeah, of course.” Kakuzu said. Hidan smirked as he walked passed his partner into his new room.
“You know that blue guy?” Hidan asked as he set his stuff on the bed. “Kisame?” Kakuzu clarified. “Yeah, whatever. He’s back.” Hidan said. “Really?” “Yeah, he has this other guy with him.” “Oh…his new partner….boy or girl?” Kakuzu asked. “I think it’s a guy….he has long, black hair, but his voice is kinda dark….” Hidan explained. “I see.” “Apparently they don’t like each other very much, oh well…” Hidan sighed. Kakuzu was silent for a bit, then followed Hidan back into his room, “Hidan, come here.” He said. “Why?” the said Jashinist asked. “Just come here.” Kakuzu repeated. Hidan frowned as he did as Kakuzu asked, walking after the other into the bathroom.
Hidan made a curios face as he watched his partner search through a small cupboard, then through the drawers under the sink, “Here it is….” Kakuzu said as he took a small spray bottle out. “What the hell is that?” Hidan asked. “Gel.” Kakuzu replied. “Gel? What are you doing with that?” “Hold still.” Kakuzu ordered as he pulled Hidan’s silver hair away from his face. Hidan glared, “What’re you doing?!” “Something.” “I know that!” “Just hold still.” Kakuzu said again. Hidan pouted, then flinched a bit from feeling something on his head. “There.” Kakuzu said. “What’d you do?” Hidan asked. “Look.” Kakuzu said, pointing to the mirror. Hidan looked at his reflection with a confused look, “Why’d you put my hair back?!” “You look better that way.” Kakuzu answered as he set the small bottle on the counter and left the bathroom. Hidan shrugged as he followed the taller one.
“Hm…..” Kakuzu mumbled, “What’s the smell….?” “What?” Hidan asked. “It’s…coming from the kitchen…” Kakuzu replied as he opened the door of their room. “Let’s go see then.” Hidan said, passing his partner and walking down the hall. Kakuzu sighed as he followed the boy.
“’Sup?” Hidan greeted as he entered the kitchen. The person didn’t answer. “Oh, you’re Kisame’s new partner, right?” Hidan asked. The other nodded. “Quiet one, eh….? What’s your name anyway?” “Itachi Uchiha.” The other answered. Hidan rolled his eyes, “I’ve heard of the Uchiha before….a little. Now let me get this straight, are you a guy or a chic?” “I was about to ask you the same thing.” Itachi said. Hidan frowned, “I’m a man, now are you a d**k or a b***h?” “I’m a guy.” Itachi hissed. “Alrighty then.” Hidan said as he walked next to Itachi, “What’cha makin’?” Hidan asked. “Dinner.” Itachi answered. “Cooker, huh? Smells good too.” Hidan chuckled. Itachi rolled his eyes. “How old are you?” Hidan asked. “Why do you care?” Itachi asked with no interest. “Oh, thanks for reminding me, I don’t care.” Hidan frowned. Just then Kakuzu entered the kitchen, “So this is the newbie, well….second newbie.” “Shut it.” Hidan ordered. “Newbie?” Itachi asked. “Yep, this guy’s only been here…what, two days?” Kakuzu sighed. Hidan glared. Itachi shrugged, “Whatever.” “His name’s Itachi, and I was right. It’s a guy.” “Of course you can tell of all people.” Kakuzu murmured. Itachi smirked. “So where’s Kisame?” Kakuzu asked, “Are you two getting along?” “I hate him, he hates me. End of discussion.” “You never know. You could get to learn to like the big guy. It ain’t easy to though.” Hidan said, glancing at Kakuzu, who in turn, glared. “Doubt it.” Itachi replied as he stirred some sort of food in a pot. “Heh, have it your way.” Hidan smirked as he left the room. Kakuzu sighed, “I’m guessing you’re not very social.” Itachi didn’t answer. “Let me just give you some advice about face-face.” Itachi made a questioning look. “Kisame hates it when someone is too loud, or when someone is too quiet. Sure enough, he is talkative but he is also stubborn and a little on the oblivious side.” Kakuzu explained, “So if you have some big secret that’s to why you aren’t very socialable, I highly doubt he’ll ever realize it. I know it’s difficult, but he is a good friend. I don’t even know him that well, but he’s predictable enough to learn a few things.” Itachi nodded weakly, “Thanks….I guess.” Kakuzu nodded in reply as he walked out of the room.
The stitched man entered the living room to see a certain redhead. “No mission?” Kakuzu asked as he sat on the couch next to the puppet. “Nope.” The other answered, “Seems that you feel better.” “You know about that?” Kakuzu asked in his deep voice. “The whole HQ knows about it, you never get sick enough to drop a mission. Which one did you miss anyway…?” Sasori asked, his tone bored. “My mission…..I dunno, I didn’t check.” Kakuzu said. “Whatever. What about that new partner of yours…?” “Hidan? He’s…..difficult.” Kakuzu mumbled. “Really?” “Kind of….I don’t know how to put it….but he’s different from the rest of us. He’s rather..louder and less serious….a little less ‘blood thirsty’ if you know what I mean.” “I don’t.” Sasori said, still bored but clearly interested. “I guess he’s not much of a killer yet, hell, he’s only fifteen.” Kakuzu sighed. “So? Kisame’s new partner’s only thirteen and he killed his whole family.” Sasori said, turning back to the TV. “Itachi….wait, from the Uchiha family?” Kakuzu asked, “But isn’t that clan supposed to be an elite. There’s no way a kid like him could do it on his own. Someone must’ve helped him or something…” “DINNER!!!!!” an unfamiliar voice shouted. “Who the hell?!” Sasori glared at the opening between the hallway and the living room. There stood a man wearing all black and a bright orange mask. “Who are you….?” Kakuzu asked. “He’s my new damn assistant…” Zetsu mumbled as he stood behind Tobi. “Zetsu san! Can we go get dinner now?!” Tobi asked in his joyful voice. “No, were eating somewhere else.” Zetsu said. “AWWWW!!! WHY???!!!” Tobi whined. “I’m in the mood for humans right now.” Zetsu replied, “Glad to see you’re feeling better Kakuzu.” The plant man waved as he left with the other skipping merrily behind.
“Great, dinner.” Kakuzu sighed as he sat up from the couch. Sasori did the same, “Everyone’s getting a new partner….” “Nah, Zetsu has an ‘assistant’.” Kakuzu corrected with a smirk. “Oh sorry.” Sasori said sarcastically, “Between you and your newbie, who’s the assistant?” “What?” Kakuzu asked as he and the puppet walked to the kitchen. “You know what.” Sasori said. “Hm….He’s my assistant.” “What makes you say that?” Sasori asked. “Because, he’s new here, and I have to help him get used to the place.” “So….if you’re helping him, that’s means you’re the assistant.” Sasori chuckled. “Shut up.” Kakuzu said. “That boy used to have his hair in his face.” Sasori mumbled. “….?” “The first day he came, I passed him in the hallway. Now just before you came in the living room, his hair was put back….did you do that, or did he?” Sasori asked. “Does it matter?” Kakuzu asked. “I agree.” Sasori said. “Agree on what?” Kakuzu asked, getting a little frustrated at the observant wooden man. Sasori chuckled again, “He does look better with hair back like that.” Kakuzu blushed slightly as he entered the kitchen.
There was Hidan sitting at the table, already eating some of the dinner the Uchiha had made. “Dude! Kuzu chan! This stuff is awesome!!!” Hidan exclaimed. “Kuzu…..chan?...” Kakuzu frowned in confusion. “Yeah! That’s your new pet name!” Hidan laughed. “See…you already have a pet name, so you’re the assistant.” Sasori said. “Keep talking and you’re tomorrow’s firewood.” Kakuzu hissed.
