Every Friday morning at 7 we set up a banner on the corner of Wal-Mart. It reads, "Happy Friday from your friends at Radcliff United Methodist Church." We wave to cars for one whole hour. Usually my back starts to hurt before my arm, I'm not so sure why...
One thing that struck me today was the fact that kids were waving back. Usually we have to stare down a car to make the person glance at us, but today we had a different crowd. People were actually having a Happy Friday. One kid rolled down his window and said good morning to us. A taxi van had several soldiers with half their bodies sticking out, yelling and waving back to us. Not only was everybody in a great mood, but it stopped raining as soon as we got there.
What really got to me today was how the children waved to us without worrying if we looked at them or if they had to be somewhere. Kids really are carefree, I notice it a lot from my little brother. I wish we didn't have to worry what we look like or how we act. At one point in our lives we matured but when did we lose our youth?
To be honest, I am a serious person, my friends sometimes call me emotionless. But there's more to me, I have a vibrant imagination and I am a good-to-earth person. I like to play around and have fun, but I know when to NOT mess around, and sometimes I don't... sweatdrop The youth in people and their randomness draws me close to them. My brother Skull09 is fun and kid-like, but he knows how to be an adult (when he wants to! wink ). My ex was like that, she had a beautiful childish nature and sometimes made her friends question her sanity! But she was a good person too, even though she didn't think she was.
Today I saw the youth in people, grown people, and I want to be one of them. It's going to be a wonderful day, and Thank GOD It's Friday. cool
