Chapter 1
Buzz. Buzz. My alarm clock went off. I pressed the snooze button and rolled out of bed. My phone buzzed and sang Music for Love. It was Rylee, so I answered. “What do you want?”
“Well good morning to you too!”
“Just tell me what you want,”
“I want you to not to be late for class,” He said with a strained voice.
‘Oh crap.’ I thought to myself. I snapped my phone shut. I ran to my closet and grabbed the closet pair of jeans and a random t-shirt. I grabbed my black Converses and my room card and ran into the dorm halls.
I hopped into my Converses and ran quickly to the main gate. A few professors were standing around the marble statues of the late, great deans of the past. A few were chatting and smoking cigarettes. One tapped his wrist at me.
I rolled my eyes and ran into the main building. There were a few fourth formers who classes didn’t start for another fifteen minutes. ‘Lucky bastards…’
415,416, and finally 417, Vampire Sociology. I entered the class as soon as the bell rang. I took a seat next to Trinity. His red hair was spiked at the ends and covered his face. He flipped his hair and smiled at me.
And of course I smiled back. It was really hard not to. He was so perfect. Sage walked into the room and everyone rose from their seats. She bowed her head and we sat.
“Okay, this year we know that none of the vampires will be taking this course. They will all be learning a little about your pasts,” Sage started.
I rolled my eyes and giggled to myself. I imagined how all the demons would survive learning about angels. “This year you will be having new students, who will coming to learn with us,” Sage continued, “when they arrive I hope you give them a warm welcome.”
Sage was the kind of teacher who you accidentally called mommy. She made you feel all safe and homey, but she was slow like a normal mom. And as a plus, she add a very southern accent that made any word sound so sweet and innocent. Just about everyone in the school loved her.
Some kid named David raised his hand. Sage pointed at him, “Will they be staying with us in our dorms?”
“Yes, they will. The people with no one to share their dorm with will be the first choice.”
My mouth dropped. Did she say what I think she said? There is no way in HECK that I’m sharing my dorm with some stranger! What if they are some creepy *****!?
“What if they are some creepy *****?” Jenna asked.
“Honey, one: I doubt they are and two: don’t use that language that is plain rude!”
Ok, could this story start off any worse? I’m already being pinned down against my will and I haven’t had any say in it. I sighed deeply thinking of ways to get out of this mess.
“Why don’t we meet our new students now,” Sage prompted. Everyone in the room groaned. I groaned right along with them.
Sage sighed and went right to be being perky. She danced (literally) over to the door. And slowly opened it….
"You should know I'm dangerous. My thirst for my blood turns me on. How sweet." Alesana, The Murderer "Lay your heart down the end's in sight. Conscience begs for you to do what's right." Black Veil Bride, Knives and Pens
