Stoker: A Biography of the Author of Dracula The Astonishing Adventures of Bram Stoker! A Superb (if Imagined) Tale of Inspiration, Travel, and One Author’s Long Road to Finding his Calling
Abraham Stoker never traveled to Transylvania. And I wouldn’t be so bold as to say that he ever met an un-living Un-Dead. He seems to have been in contact with various famous authors of the time, though I doubt he was the type to share secrets late at night, tucked under a blanket with Oscar Wilde or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
But Abraham Stoker was, at some point, just a young man and, like many young men (and young women), he was probably just as lost and confused upon being forced to leave his school days far behind in favor of pursuing real life as any of us are. Why not take that confusion to the extreme? Why not make life a personal quest to overcome your fears and find what is best in yourself, and to use your talents to the fullest?
Why not re-tell a life as you imagine it, if it’s for the sake of teaching others to reach for the stars and follow their hearts and all those other lovely clichés? And why not have a Victorian author become an inspired hero in his own right?
It’s an unauthorized biography…read into it what you will.

“I’m not saying don’t go,” the young man told him, languishing in the sun of another glorious spring day, his face upturned towards the heavens. His eyes opened infinitesimally, and he tossed a careless smile in the other man’s direction. “All I’m saying is I’ll miss you, mate.” Balanced on a boulder within earshot, he smirked. “You’re a damn liar, Os,” he laughed, settling cross-legged on the scalding stone. “The minute I’m gone, you’ll forget all about me.”
“Lies! Terrible, horrible, slanderous lies, all of it!” Rising, he shouted back towards Dublin, “Don’t believe a word of it, ladies and gentlemen! The prodigal young man you know and love has had his genteel mind poisoned against my honest soul!”
“It’s out of sight, out of mind with you; don’t deny it.” He searched his mind hurriedly for an example of his friend’s missteps, to drive the point home, and, thankfully, came across one. “What of Fiona?”
The young man’s entire visage wrinkled in distaste at the memory. “Oh. Her.”
“Yes, her. She went on holiday with her family for a few weeks, and when she returned, begging for your sweet embrace, you looked at her as if she’d grown a second head and said so many terrible things, you made her cry.”
“There’s more to it than that,” he muttered, but he obviously didn’t care to elaborate, for he settled back on his rock, tossed an arm dramatically over his eyes, and made a point to keep his face directed skyward. After a long moment of silence, he repeated firmly, “I’ll miss you, Bram. You’re the only one here with a damn brain.”
He smiled faintly. That was as great a compliment as any had managed to extract from those lips. “I’ll write.”
“You won’t.” He sighed, morose and dramatic, per usual. “Well, you will, probably, but not to me. You’ll go off and have your adventures and forget all about the little people you had to step on to reach the heights of success you’ll undoubtedly attain.”
He glanced at his friend again, bemused. “Aye?” he inquired, raising one eyebrow. “And what will become of you, then?”
“Me?” He rolled onto his stomach, holding his head up with a hand cupped under his chin, and grinned again. “I’ll be here, lounging in the sun, burning to a crisp, probably. What else am I good for?”

If anyone can name the to-be fellow author Bram's talking to, you get a cookie xd
I have a bit more written, and a bunch of fun characters worked out for him to meet along the way, but no way to get from here to there. If anyone's interested in a roleplay based off this, PM me : ]
