Damacas saw the gem glinting brightly under a sapphire shield of energy.....he had faced few challenges in the temple, even though half his party had be slain by the twin Stone Golems, he refused to leave without knowing what was worth all that protection. He saw a massive diamond, colored red as though it had been steeped in blood, and he immediatly urned for the stone. Little did he know that it would kill him 3 months later....in the freakest of house fires....
The Inferno Diamond is an insidious object from the Elemental Plane of Fire. It is a permament Gate to the Plane of Fire, and radiates its heat only when the gem chooses to. When not active, the gem can pass as a flawless diamond, couriously colored red.
Only an extreamly strongwilled master can tame the gem. If a charater successfully gains control of the gem, treat all fire based effects as thought the charater had the Absorb Fire feat(as long as the gem is somewhere on his person).
Once per day, the gem can Gate a random being from the Plane of Fire to the Material Plane. If the gem is under someones control, the creature summoned this way must serve the weilder of the gem for one hour, after which the creature is returned to the Plane of Fire. If the gem is not under control, the creature may do as it pleases for one hour before being returned to the Plane of Fire.
Finally, the gem can create a blast of fire every 1d4 rounds. This fire is blasted in a 60 foot cone, and does an even 4d20 points of damage over the entire radius.
