The stench of death hung in the air as dark clouds gathered overhead. The area looked like a battle had gone on for a long time when in actuality it had only lasted twenty to thirty minutes. A large crater lay in the center of the field, bits of wood and grass still on fire from the attacks that had been launched. In the center of the crater sat two bodies, one of the living and one of the dead. The dead lay on his back, his eyes expression less with death. The bright blue they once were was dimmed considerably by death. The other, the living, sat staring at the body. He didn't move or speak for a long time. He just stared at the body of the man he'd once considered a brother. A few drops of rain fell from the sky as if mourning the lose of this person.

“It didn't have to be this way Naruto.....I'm sorry” the other man said at last.

His voice was cold and held little emotion but his eyes told the tale. They held a great sadness at what he had done. But if there had been any other way he could have stopped the blond he would have. May he be cast into the dark depths of hell but it was the only way. The kyuubi had influenced Naruto's mind to the point that he would no longer see reason. The man had gone berserk and was on a rampage. The other man had tried to stop him and his rampage but it turned out fruitless. He'd had to kill the blond before he got back to the village and destroyed it.

Rain began to fall thick and heavy but the man took no notice. He was too deep in his thoughts. He had nothing to go back to now. He'd killed the light of Konoha, the next candidate for the title of Hokage. The man had only a few weeks till his dream came true but alas.....when we mere mortals make plans the gods laugh cause what else do the have to do than ******** up our lives.

The man knew that he wasn't going to be able to return. He'd ******** up so many times in their eyes and in his own. They barely trusted him now, how was he going to explain this to everyone. No, he couldn't return to Konoha. That'd be serving his head up on a platter to them. He glanced up at the sky and sighed. The only reason he'd been staying in the village was because of Naruto.
